  • Glamping site on a 63-hectare estate 15 minutes' drive from Morlaix
  • Breakfast delivered directly to your glamping unit
  • Walking/bike trails, pony rides and woodland adventure course on site
Seeking a bit of peace, quiet and space to breathe, stretch the legs or run around? All the above are served up at splendid Domaine du Treuscoat, a vast estate of 63 hectares 15 minutes’ drive from Morlaix – along with breakfast each day delivered straight to your door. There are a whopping 11 kilometres of trails for exploring on foot or by bike (which, handily, you can hire on site), and plenty of scope for running about for your small fry. And they may also care for a pony ride through the woods from the site’s stables, or bounce/ giggle their way through the nets of the adventure course? (Don’t be despondent, grownup folks – you can join the fun too if you like.) Each of the estate’s glamping units are well away from each other, for maximum space and serenity. Being an eco-friendly kinda place, there’s no running water or electricity in the lodgings, but you’ll be provided with torches to avoid too much scrabbling around in the darkness, and should you require a shower, you need only trot over to the main toilet block. Feeds and drinks are available at the café. Off site, the peaks of the Monts d'Arrée are about a 20-minute drive to the south, and the beaches, islands and fishing villages of the north Finistere coast about 20 minutes in the opposite direction.

Local attractions

Off site, the peaks of the Monts d'Arrée are about a 20-minute drive to the south, and the beaches, islands and fishing villages of the north Finistere coast about 20 minutes in the opposite direction. A recommended next stop for hiking is the Armorique Regional Natural Park, 20 minutes’ drive away, for challenging hikes in the Monts d’Arrée or leisurely strolls around the lakes and rocky coastline. At Morlaix, wander through the streets of half-timbered buildings, climb the staircases to the site of the old castle for some lovely views and visit the Maison de la Duchesse Anne for a peek inside a medieval house. The huge 14-arched viaduct made from pink granite is worth a gawp in its own right before you cross it to the port area to hop on a boat trip up the river to head out onto the open sea. For more coastal exploits, head to Roscoff (half an hour away) to visit the botanic gardens and onion museum, and take a boat trip to the Île de Batz for gorgeous sandy beaches and coastal walks. Or set a course for Carantec (20 minutes) for more beaches, a sea-view golf course and various watersports.
