  • Pretty and peaceful riverside campsite in Savigny-lès-Beaune
  • A 10-minute drive to the centre of Beaune; Dijon 40 minutes
  • In the grounds of a wine-growing villa, with snack bar and play area
A holiday in the Burgundy region is an excellent idea for many reasons… not least of which is the prospect of sampling all the fine food and wine the area produces… There should be plenty of chances to get stuck into all of that when you stay at Camping Onlycamp Les Premières Vignes, a pretty site in the grounds of a wine-growing villa on the edge of the village of Savigny-lès-Beaune. This is a place where you can start local by wandering along the paths through the site’s vineyards before visiting the village’s other wineries – and then heading out towards Beaune (10 minutes’ drive) or Dijon (40 minutes) to find more things to eat and drink. It doesn’t all have to be about feeding yourselves constantly, of course – there are plenty of châteaux, outdoor activities and family attractions to keep you busy too if you want to mix things up a bit. Or of course, you could just spend some time relaxing on site – this is a peaceful spot on the banks of the Rhoin river, with a natural atmosphere and plenty of shade from the hedges, trees and bushes around the site. A snack bar opens up in July and August to provide easy eats, and there’s also a play area on site to amuse the kids. Self-catering supplies are available at the grocery store, butcher and bakery a kilometre away in the village centre.

What customers say

Spacious, often shaded pitches w/ easy access. Guests loved clean, quality facilities (warm showers!), & friendly staff. Great for exploring villages & vineyard cycling. A few noted dated facilities, pitch drainage, & no Wi-Fi. Peaceful, well-located.

Power optional grass and earth campsite

Liked Ample sized pitch with shelter from trees. We only stayed one night as a stop-over. Very accomadating staff. We phoned to say that we would be arriving late, which was no problem at all.

Besides the campsite, it's a lovely area to visit, particularly if you have an interest in Burgundy wine. The area all the way down to Santenay is a largely flat and good for cycling through the many famous appellations and vineyards. The town of Beaune also has charm.

Disliked Didn't stay long enough to find any issues

Power optional grass and earth campsite

Liked Excellent site, Bar & pizzas on site, showers, ehu & toilets
Excellent chateau with a collection of fighter aeroplanes, tractors and fire engines

Disliked Only one problem was that our pitch was too far away from the ehu hook up and had to get an extension lead and leave driving licence as a deposit

Power optional grass and earth campsite

Liked Reception staff (Justine) was really receptive to our unforeseen late arrival.
Location was great - easy trot into the village of Savigny Les Beaune. Great for wine lovers and cycling.
Facilities were good on the whole - just as advertised. Staff worked hard to keep it clean.

Disliked Couldn't get bread in the area for love nor money.
Men's showers had fixed, non-directional heads, which just made the whole cubicle wet - also the shower was cold/tepid on the 2nd day. Women's showers had directional/removable hand-held shower heads.

Local attractions

Once you’ve taken a wander along the trails that run through the vineyards on site, carry on up to the village, where there are a handful of other wineries and the Château de Savigny-les-Beaune, housing a collection of vintage cars, motorbikes and planes. If you’d rather ride your own bike, try out the downhill trails at the village bike park (10 minutes’ walk). Beaune (10 minutes’ drive) is another good source of wine-related days out, with a wine museum in town and numerous wine producers in the surrounding area – you can visit them under your own steam (perhaps pedalling along the bike paths that link them) or join an organised tour that will take you to several of the best. On the other side of town you can refresh yourselves with a swim at Beaune Côté Plage (20 minutes). To continue your foodie tour, learn about blackcurrants at Cassissium (20 minutes) or aim for the mustard-producing town of Dijon (40 minutes). If it’s time for something else entirely, explore the classic turrets of Château de Châteauneuf (20 minutes) or treat the kids to a day of log flumes and steam train rides at Parc des Combes (an hour).
