Liked: Size of pitch, hot water and clean facilities.

Disliked: Location; the look of the shower blocks - very utilitarian.

Liked: The site and its facilities

Disliked: When we arrived the reception was closed. We were told to wait about 45 mins until it opened the barrier was opened to let us in and we were told to wait in the parking area. It was quite an uncomfortable wait as the weather was hot and we had just driven for about 4 hours. Once the reception opened we were told to just go and pick any site we wanted. Why couldn't we have done that 45 mins ago and then let reception know which pitch we were on they knew who we were as I introduced my self when the barrier was opened and we did have a reservation we found that very frustrating.

From the manager: Sir, Thank you for your good notation. We totally understand your situation but the reception can't be open all day long and our opening hours are available on the website. To facilitate everybody's arrivals, you can call us when you want to enter beetween 8am and 10pm. And we open the gate for you. It is writting in our reception door. Liked: Cleanliness of sanitaire Peace and quiet Pitch and view to chateau Reception excellent

Disliked: Having to empty cassette for toilet outside the campsite was tedious Wi-Fi would be helpful Didn’t really like the village of Volvic - no coffee shops or cafes open and all shops etc closed

Local attractions

Hikers, the Puy-de-Dôme region is ready and waiting for you with myriad family walks or stiffer challenges for the more experienced on more than 2,400 miles-worth of way-marked trails. They can lead to the video exhibitions in Grotte de la Pierre de Volvic (15 minutes’ walk), source of the famed mineral water, or the scenic crater of Puy de Pariou (roughly three hours’ walk). From Volvic (10 minutes’ walk), the looped GR 441 takes in various volcanoes and heads up to Lake Servières (a seven-hour hike or 45 minutes by car). Alternatively, take the strain off your feet and catch the Panoramique des Dômes rack train (20 minutes’ drive) up to the summit of Puy de Dôme volcano for views across the Auvergne Volcanoes Natural Regional Park. Learn all about volcanoes from the interactive exhibits and workshops at Vulcania theme park (20 minutes), and see one close up at Volcan de Lemptégy (15 minutes), where you explore inside the crater on foot and watch 4D films on the origin of the volcanic Auvergne region.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Motorcycle(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The park is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Reception

Reception is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. between 07/01 and 08/31.
Reception is open from 9 a.m. to noon and from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. between 04/26 - 06/30 and 09/01 - 09/29.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Firearms are not permitted.
No charcoal barbecues allowed.
Open fires are prohibited.

Sites

You must follow management instructions when setting up your tent/rig and related equipment.

Vehicles

Only one car is to be parked at the site. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.
The car is only included in the rate if you are traveling with a camper, trailer tent or tent. Cars are not permitted when traveling with a motorhome/RV.
Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Visitors

Visitors’ cars are not permitted on site.
Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.
