From your cosy tent, you can soon be out walking in the wooded Únětice Creek Valley (10 minutes’ stroll), or hiking along a tributary of the Vltava River at Tiché údolí (half an hour). After a bit of Czech history and culture? You can explore the ruins of Okoř Castle (20 minutes’ drive), where themed medieval events are often held. The grand baroque-era Lány Castle (half an hour) is open for tours of its formal gardens, ornamental greenhouses and opulent apartments. If you’re not local, chances are you’ll be wanting to visit gorgeous Prague. Bucket-list attractions include hilltop Prague Castle and the regal statues on pedestrianised Charles Bridge (both 20 minutes), the baroque-era churches and astronomical clock in magical Old Town Square (25 minutes) and the natural science exhibits at the vast National Museum (half an hour). And wherever you end up in the city, there are bars and restaurants aplenty for refuelling stops.
