- Simple, laidback Cundinamarca site overlooking Suesca Lagoon
- A 15-minute drive from Cucunubá; less than two hours from Bogotá
- Kitchen area and basic cafeteria on site, plus small playground
Time to escape the city and embrace the Cundinamarca countryside? Grab a spot at Glampingland and you’ll be among green grassy surroundings – all centred around a gorgeous view of the nearby Suesca Lagoon.
That all-encompassing rural view means this is a fab place to settle down for some rest and relaxation at a site that welcomes all sorts of guests, including families, groups and those travelling with dogs. Facilities include a small playground, a kitchen area and a basic cafeteria that serves up breakfasts, lunches and dinners to eat in or take back to your pitch. There are, however, no toilets or showers at this site, so you’ll need to be self sufficient on the bathroom front.
Putting your feet up, grabbing some snacks and a drink and just enjoying those views is likely to be a popular activity, but if you're after something more active that's also possible. The team on site can point you towards hiking and cycling trails, or recommend places to get out and try some local cooking. There are also a couple of lovely towns to explore nearby at colonial Cucunubá (15 minutes' drive) and Ubaté (half an hour).
And if all this has got you city folk dreaming of getting out into nature, it’s worth noting that Glampingland is less than two hours' drive from Bogotá, making it a definite possibility for a couple of nights away from urban life.

Local attractions
The lovely little town of Cucunubá (15 minutes' drive) is known as the 'Jewel of Cundinamarca’ and makes an excellent place to have a wander around. The cobbled streets and pretty colonial houses are home to a number of sweet cafés and shops, along with the well-preserved Church of San Miguel Arcángel, built in the 18th century.
For a longer outing, get your hiking boots on to do a circuit of the lagoon or head out to nearby natural sites like the Monolitos de Chocontá rock formations, the huge Piedra Ventana rock window and the Páramo de Guacheneque nature reserve (all around an hour's drive). For climbers, it has to be a trip to Suesca village (50 minutes), the country’s top spot for scrambling up cliff faces.
If you’ve not seen them on the trip up from Bogotá, it's worth planning an outing to the Nemocón Salt Mine and/or Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral – both are about an hour's drive away and fascinating places to explore.
