Entrance to the site

  • Green Wallonia site bordered by the Ourthe river on two sides
  • Grottes de Remouchamps 15 minutes' drive; half an hour to Spa
  • Spacious sheltered pitches; play area and fishing on site
Staying at a riverside location is always a lovely thing – but it’s twice as good when the river splits and runs down two sides of the site. That’s the fabulous natural setting of Arden Parks Comblain-au-Pont, in the Wallonia countryside where the Ourthe river splits about a mile from Comblain-au-Pont. That geographic feature alone makes this a great base for a holiday in the Belgian Ardennes, providing lovely riverside views all around the site as well as plenty of access for fishing. It’s a peaceful rural spot indeed, but having the town so close by is a very handy thing as it means just a short five-minute bike ride to get to several shops and places to eat (many of them with riverside terraces). Want to take your bike further? There are several cycling trails through the surrounding countryside, along with hiking routes for those who’d rather roam on foot. You’ll also be well placed to explore local attractions like the Comblain caves and Center of the Bat, or to head off to slightly more far-flung places like historic Durbuy, Les Grottes de Remouchamps and the original spa town of Spa, known for its mineral-rich thermal waters. Liège is a little over half an hour’s drive away too. Back on site, the pitches are spacious and sheltered by trees, and have access to shared facilities including a play area, a chemical disposal point and a barbecue area. Showers and toilets are provided, and there’s a wifi service as well.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked: Next to the river, plenty of wildlife.

Disliked: Waited 30 minutes to receive the gate code to get in. No staff around to help with any questions. Whole campsite just looked a bit neglected.

From the manager: Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our Arden Parks campsite in Comblain-au-Pont.

We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the natural surroundings, especially being close to the river and the presence of local wildlife — these are some of the elements that make our site truly special.

Regarding the delay in receiving your gate code, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Your booking was made last-minute via the Pitchup platform, and unfortunately, we did not receive the confirmation email immediately, which caused a delay in our response.

We would also like to point out that an emergency phone number was displayed at the entrance of the campsite. Our team remained reachable by phone at all times, even outside regular hours, and we encourage guests to call us in such situations so we can provide assistance right away.

Finally, we’ve taken note of your comment about the general appearance of the site. We’re currently undertaking progressive improvements and your feedback helps us prioritize where attention is needed.

We hope to have the chance to welcome you again under better circumstances.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked: Peaceful location, close to a number of walks so ideal for those who enjoy the outdoors. Lots of information leaflets about the local attractions. Only 2 others on site the night we stayed so very quiet. Good value for money, facilities were clean and check in/out was very easy.

Disliked: No running water available in the washing up area of the campsite.

From the manager: We thank you a lot for your kind words! We hope to welcome you soon again here or in another Arden Parks Camping 🌲

Local attractions

The team on site will happily point you towards some nice routes for walks and bikes rides nearby, but don’t limit yourselves just to finding out what’s above ground in this area – it’s also got some fantastic subterranean attractions to explore at places like Cave Comblain (five minutes' drive) and Les Grottes de Remouchamps (15 minutes). As well as being spectacular to look at, they’re important homes for local bats – and you can find out more about the creatures at the Center of the Bat (five minutes). To see a bigger range of animals (elephants, monkeys and penguins among them), head over to Wild World Safari Park (20 minutes). Another great family day out, especially for those with younger kids, is at Plopsa Coo theme park (40 minutes). For a taste of local heritage, spend some time exploring the cobbled streets and old stone houses of Durbuy (25 minutes), or visit Liège (35 minutes) for its churches, museums and Montagne de Bueren steps. Spa (half an hour) is another great choice, famed for its thermal mineral waters and also home to the Spa-Francorchamps Formula 1 circuit.
