Off to the Dolomites? Might you be after an assortment of hiking trails and fresh-air antics, all surrounded by some splendid scenery? Or maybe you’d prefer to find a whole heap of activities right there where you’re staying? Or how about both? Dolomiten Camping Amlacherhof, just outside Lienz, is that very place. All around are woods and meadows for gentle wanderings, with the mighty mountains a little further beyond for more challenging treks. Rafting, climbing, tobogganing and paragliding are nearby for intrepid types, along with castles and animal parks for those seeking more serene days out. Not that you need to leave the grounds to get going on the activities – the site has an outdoor pool, a couple of tennis courts, a miniature golf course and a trampoline, as well as table tennis and a variety of other games. A mini car track and playground are on hand to keep the kids amused, and there’s a little café for treats including ice creams and cakes. For more substantial eats, pick up supplies at the mini market and trot over to the guest kitchen, or stoke up a barbie if the weather allows. Restaurants, cafés and pubs are five minutes away in Lienz if you fancy sampling some of the local fare.

  • A charge of €0.80 ($0.84) applies for the use of the shower.
  • The outdoor swimming pool is open between 07/01 and 08/31 (subject to weather conditions).
  • Bookings must not be for more than 17 consecutive nights.
  • Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
  • If selecting optional electric hook-up: the price includes 3kWh of electric per day. Further usage is metered on site at a rate of €1 per kWh and is payable on check-out.

Liked Really close to Lienz, nice bike routes near, great pool! Large pitches and nice atmosphere!

Disliked Sanitary places where outdated, you need to buy coins for showering (that’s quite oldskool nowadays), electricity quite pricey

Liked Sehr sauberer Campingplatz mit großzügigen Stellplätzen.
Saubere Sanitäranlagen und Toiletten.
Sehr netter Betreiber der sich sehr Mühe gibt !
Die Stellplätzen sind sehr eben.

Disliked Die Einfahrt lässt etwas zu wünschen übrig, man sieht leider nicht welch ein Schätzchen sich dahinter verbirgt!
Brötchen waren nicht immer pünktlich da, statt 8.30uhr auch mal zm 9.15uhr. Das sollte bei dem Preis der Brötchen nicht sein.

Liked posizione perfetta per chi vuole andare in bicicletta, vicinissimo alla pista ciclabile e a Lienz. Piscina pulita e molto bella. Le piazzole sono grandi, pulite e alcune molto ombreggiate. Veramente un plus!

Disliked La pulizia di bagni poteva essere effettuata più frequentemente. Il campeggio ospita un buon numero di persone e i bagni sono limitati.

Liked The scenery, easy walk into Lienz and lovely pool.

Disliked The site has a general unkempt look about it. Lots of things left lying about.
It has so much potential to be a great site, so it’s a shame.
Shower floor very wet most of the time making it very slippery & potentially dangerous.
Also the wifi didn’t work.

Liked Great landscape and surroundings, amazing views, big pitches, easy acces to electricity, quite compact camping site, very nice swimming pool and clean, general installations, space for kids, beer and icecream auotamats,

Disliked Indications of where to find what was difficult, no introduction from camping site operator, swimming pool cleaning machine worked sometimes until 3 pm 8!)

Liked Pladsen har det man skal bruge og de indendørs arealer holdes rene. God til prisen. Lækker pool! Mine børn hyggede sig. Trods de negative ting ville vi gerne bruge pladsen igen til overnatning i transit, men vi ville aldrig blive flere dage.

Disliked Der er en grund til at det er en af de eneste ledige pladser i højsæsonen. Alt er meget slidt og det roder i krogene af pladsen, der står gamle møbler og køleskabe forskellige steder, murbrokker og træstykker ligger i bunker, så det er ikke særligt pænt. Ejer af pladsen har hverken evne eller formåen til at få ryddet op og gjort pladsen flot igen. Billederne af pladsen er meget gamle, så de snyder.

Liked Kemp vedou velmi milí lidé. Krasné prostředí s bazénem. Nižší cena oproti jiným nabízeným. Moc hezká obec Almach. Doporučuji.

Local attractions

There are heaps of ways to get your fill of fresh air around here: don your boots for a hike in the scenic surrounds, or rent a bike on site. Saddle up at the riding stables just next door if you prefer, plunge into the clear waters of the Tristacher See or get set for days of adrenaline-filled antics: rafting on the Isel, tandem paragliding flights and via ferrata climbing routes are within a 15-minute drive. For something a little more leisurely, head into Lienz itself to peruse the art at Bruck Castle or hang out in the little shops and cafés around the pretty pedestrianised square. History buffs will want to take a short trip out of town (10 minutes or so) to roam around the Roman ruins at Aguntum. Get your head for heights on and take the cable car from Lienz up to Schlossberg; at the top of the mountain is a toboggan run, adventure park and petting zoo. For animal antics without the ascent, take a 15-minute drive to Assling Wildlife Park instead.
