  • Pop-up site on a 40-acre wildlife haven with a pond and woodland
  • Cardigan, Castell Henllys and Poppit Sands within 20 minutes' drive
  • Three miles from the Pembrokeshire coast at Ceibwr
Settle into Waunbayvil Camping and you'll have the run of a splendid 40 acres of private countryside and woodlands in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. As a small pop-up site for groups of up to 10 people only, this is a splendid spot to bring the friends or family. Beaches for swimming and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path for hikes and rambles are just 10 minutes’ drive away in Ceibwr. There are just four pitches (three for a tent and one suitable for a campervan). They’re all in a secluded spot surrounded by woodlands, with a pond nearby and views over the gorgeous local landscape. As you may imagine of such a setting, it's something of a wildlife haven teeming with wild orchids and many species of wildflowers and grass. There are no neighbours and you can be left alone for your entire stay if you want (if not, wander down to the bottom of the site's track after 5pm to meet the owners and look round the gallery, studio and shop at the main barn). A firepit is supplied for outdoor warmth and cooking if you fancy it. Supplies can be sorted at the farmers' markets in Newport on Mondays and St Dogmaels on Tuesdays; to have someone else do the cooking, plenty of cafés and pubs are in Newport, St Dogmaels and Cardigan.

Primitive cement/asphalt and grass tent or trailer tent campsite (secluded, wild)

Liked: Quiet peaceful site, with great potential, area is close to beaches and tourists places of interest, beautiful part of the world.

Disliked: The site was somewhat neglected and needs attention, drive and pathways, parking area need maintaining from brambles and stingers, parking area sensors on car triggered each entry to drive. No one to meet and greet to let you know land boundaries and footpaths etc. Even though a small site with limited pitches with full occupancy one toilet one shower and one sink is not adequate for all.

Primitive cement/asphalt and grass campsite (secluded, wild)

Liked: The website pictures and local beach

Disliked: When we arrived, we were told that a family had exclusive use of the campsite but we could still use the compost loo, tap and shower. The shower was attached to the outdoor kitchen which had all the private belonging of the other family. Plus the shower window prevented any privacy so we did not feel comfortableshowering within view of the family. Any trips for water felt like we were invading the other campers privacy. We were told we did not have access to the kitchen. Instead, on arrival, we were shown a field where we could camp which did not match website photos.
I spent a lot of time researching an ideal location and picked this campsite based upon the website photos and details. I should have asked for a partial refund.

From the manager: Hello,
I am so sorry for the confusion over use of kitchen, totally my fault navigating the pitch up website! Pictures of kitchen feature on overall site pics, but it is not for an exclusive pitch. Apologies for any confusion!

From the A487 (coming from Cardigan) in Velindre Farchog turn right signposted to Moylegrove. Go up a winding hill through the forest for about two miles. When you reach a crossroads, go straight over towards Moylegrove. After around 200 metres the site is the first track on the left just after a right-hand bend. You will see a cattle grid, a big metal bin and a small sign that says Waunbayvil. Go over the cattle grid and follow track down till you see the sign for camping on the left.
