  • Popular family-run farm park with excellent facilities and amenities
  • Animal walk, adventure play, bakery, grocery sales and off-licence
  • A mile and a half from St Davids and direct access to the coast path
Joey the pygmy goat is 'one of the naughtiest boys on the farm', say the owners of popular Lleithyr Farm Holiday Park on the Pembrokeshire coast. Well of course he is – just look at that mischievous, plotting, furry little face in the site pics… He's just one of the inhabitants at this scenic and family-run farm site's animal farm walk, where your little critters can make friends with miniature pigs, pygmy goats, Kunekune pigs and small ducks, as well as furry sorts at the rabbit enclosure. Also for kids is a timber adventure play area with balance beams, climbing wall, bridges, tunnel, high house and slide; for grownups, there's a well-stocked shop with bread, pastries and croissants from the in-store bakery, and milk, cheese and dairy products, fresh fruit and vegetables, branded groceries and local alternatives. An off-licence with a wide range of wines and beers is also available, alongside Calor and camping gas cylinders, camping equipment, body boards, wetsuits, windbreaks and beach goods. As well as all this, the site owners rightly point out there are heaps of reasons to visit this 180-acre farm: its quiet country lane location on the Pembrokeshire coast, for one, joining the Pembrokeshire Coast Path straight from the site via a quiet track, and with views from its flat site over the whole farm towards a volcanic ridge dropping steeply towards the Irish Sea. The farm is secluded enough for peace but easily accessible to the best of Pembrokeshire attractions, like the beach at Whitesands a mile and a half away. On top of that is the list of facilities: the team members here are proud of the site and want guests to have as relaxed a stay as possible and to return many times, so they've ensured all is up to date and well maintained, including modern toilet and shower blocks with two family/disabled toilet and shower units as well as free hairdryers.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Beautifully laid out ... nice, clean amenities ... well stocked shop for emergency rations ... a bus at the front gate that runs twice an hour to Tyddewi (St David's) in peak season (once in off peak) ... some nice walks nearby ... the Wi-Fi is an extra cost but when you think about it, if you're already on a plan or don't want it, that's a good thing

Disliked: Not a dislike as such but seeing as there are quite a few other sites (motor homes / caravans) nearby ... I would imagine the narrow lane to the site would get very, very, very hectic in peak season

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Great site, beautiful location ideal for walks into St David’s, the beach or a hike up the mountain. Pitches are well spaced out. Facilities are clean with a very handy onsite shop open 12 hours a day with a good selection of groceries. We can recommend the fresh croissants 🥐

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The location of the campsite was great, close to Whitesands and St David’s. We were able to choose our pitch and the pitch size was really generous. The shop was decently stocked and quite fairly priced with good quality pastries and bacon. The playground and animal trail kept the children occupied.

Disliked: The bathrooms were not cleaned often enough and we really struggled with using the washing facilities because of this. The family shower, which was a great idea to have, was especially filthy. I understand that a lot of this is down to the users, however, I’ve stayed in busier sites where the facilities are just cleaned more often to keep them useable. Despite the great location and it being very kid friendly, we wouldn’t stay here again purely down to the lack of cleanliness.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: A wonderfully welcoming and well kept site. Clean and safe for children with a nice playground and animals to enjoy. Not too far on foot from the beach and also St David’s itself. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We had a fantastic stay at Lleithyr Farm - our first time camping with the kids (age 7 & 4)! The campsite was well maintained, clean, and had an exceptionally well stocked shop on site. The kids loved meeting the farm animals and spent hours in the playground. We also enjoyed the take away pizza on offer on Sunday night, and rented a firepit to toast marshmallows 😍 Location is brilliant, although we didn't walk, it's only a 5 minute drive to Whitesands Beach which was perfect for body boarding, beach games and rock pooling! We loved our stay and hope to be back soon 😁🥳

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Really lovely site. Walked into st Davids from the site and white sands is only a few mintues down the road. The shop on site is well sto cked. There is a lovely little farm area to visit the animals and a good play park for the kids.

Disliked: Wish there were toilets in all fields on the site.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: The location. The facilities. That it had animals on site. Extremely child friendly. I actually liked the fact it was 20p for a shower as it meant people would have a 4 minute shower and if avoided big queues. I really enjoyed the whole place, will definitely be returning next year for a week.

Disliked: Except from St Davids, it is very remote. However it didn’t put me off at all.

Local attractions

As may have been mentioned, Lleithyr Farm Holiday Park is in excellent locale, in a peaceful Pembrokeshire location but easily accessible to top attractions: the team reckons that after a stay here, you'll def be back for more. The farm is the closest park to the beach at Whitesands, and links directly to walks including the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. From Whitesands, take the nine and a half mile hike to Caerfai Bay via Ramsey Sound and St Non's, or go 11 miles in the other direction to Trefin via St David's Head. If you'd rather climb, the peak of Carn Llidi in Whitesands Bay is within easy walking distance – you may as well have an easy amble before clambering puffingly upwards…
