  • Small family-run Pembrokeshire site with dog-friendly grassy pitches
  • A 35-minute walk from Saundersfoot and a five-minute drive to Tenby
  • Barbecues welcome; farm shop within five minutes' walk
Gold-sand coves, limestone stacks and fishing harbours… get your Pembrokeshire fix at Crane Cross Camping Park. Based just 35 minutes’ walk from Saundersfoot, where the sandy cove has shallow bathing water, this small family-run site has a splendid location alright. Tenby, a popular Pembrokeshire seaside town with a castle, 13th-century walls and a harbour where boats depart to Caldey Island, is only five minutes’ drive away too. Dog-friendly? Indeed. Barbecues welcome? That too.Handy facilities? Of course. There’s a fridge and freezer in case you want to store fresh eats from the farm shop five minutes’ walk away. Other on-site facilities are handy and include ladies and gents’ toilets, handwashing basins, unisex showers, shaver points, washing-up facilities, an ironing board and hot and cold water. For an additional cost, there’s also a washing machine, dryer and payphone available. For the kids, meanwhile, there's a sand play area where they can dig, explore and make friends. The site only accepts families and couples, which keeps things nice and peaceful. Dogs are welcome too as long as they're kept on leads… It's a cracking location for walks for canines (or humans), with the countryside and coast so easily accessible.

What customers say

Well-kept, family-friendly site with roomy spots & chill vibe. Guests rave about clean facilities (especially hot showers) & owners' helpfulness. Great for exploring, with a nice walk to Saundersfoot. Facilities are older but clean & functional. Kids love the playground, dog owners the field. Future upgrades planned.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (solo)

Liked Extremely friendly owner who will go above and beyond to accommodate you. Toilets and showers always clean. Much better than a lot of premium sites that charge silly money.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The day we were arriving I had a text message to let me know exactly where our pitch is, that was great as when we arrived we could just park straight up! Toilets were clean and the showers were clean. Big washing up station and washing up liquid was provided! The pitch we stayed on was also very level. Me and my partner really enjoyed our visit here and we will definitely be back again!

Disliked Nothing!

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Easy access off main A road.
40 min walk into Saundersfoot down quiet country lane. Down hill going but bit of a climb on way back.
Non EHU choose where you want to set up.

Disliked Nobody to greet on arrival so very impersonal. It would have been nice to see someone working around the site.
Site is looking a bit tired.
Smell coming from shower cubicles.

From the manager: Thank you for staying at CC and for leaving a review. We regularly check the campsite, I’m sorry you missed us on one particular day. I’m sorry that there was an unpleasant smell coming from the shower cubicles, this horrifies us we work very hard to keep the showers clean throughout the camping season. Rhian & Phil

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (solo)

Liked Quiet site with flat pitches, a short work from an excellent farm shop. They have a pitch price discount for solo travellers which is very fair. The facilities are kept
scrupulously clean and there are free hot showers. The site is only a short distance from the start of the cycle path into Tenby. It’s a fair walk into Tenby but it can be done by taking the short cut via the cycle path.
The site is fairly priced.

Disliked It’s a shame the cycle path doesn’t start nearer the site but that has nothing to do with the site itself.

Local attractions

Pembrokeshire has got a few tricks up its sleeves for family-friendly days out: Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes' drive) is perennially popular, with over 750 animals and vintage fairground rides, or you could step back in time to see the giant beasts at Dinosaur Park Tenby (five minutes). Paintball, golf, archery, fishing… get your dose at Heatherton World of Activities (five minutes). If you’re still craving animals, however, Manor Wildlife Park (five minutes) has a walking safari where guests can have a go at feeding the wallabies. You bet that Pembrokeshire also has some gorgeous coastal path sections, with excellently clear waters and geological formations. The Green Bridge, Elugug Stacks and The Cauldron are all half an hour’s drive away, as is Saint Govan’s Chapel by the sea and the sandy Broad Haven South beach (half an hour), backed by a lily pond.
