Caravanning in pembrokeshire
Enclosed dog field was an added bonus!
Beautiful camping setup 🙌

  • Peaceful Pembrokeshire campsite with rural views near Narberth
  • A 20-minute drive to the A40, the Preseli Hills and Oakwood Theme Park
  • Camping in a farm meadow; shop, café and pub five minutes’ drive
Croeso (a warm Welsh welcome) to Bloomfield Farm, set in the middle of glorious Pembrokeshire countryside. This peaceful but easily accessible site (it’s easy to find and 20 minutes’ drive from the A40) is located in 15 acres of green meadows, so there’s more than enough space here to relax and unwind. While going about your day on site, take some time to admire the spectacular views – which are even more spectacular at sunrise and sunset on clear days. And the views don't stop at dusk, either – this is a dark skies area with no light pollution, so after the sun sets you can sit back and watch the stars glittering overhead. Simple site facilities include separate male and female showers with lots of hot water. Campfires and barbecues are allowed, and you can top up kindling on site for a small charge. You’re welcome to bring dogs, and there’s masses of room in the meadow for them to have a run around. Maenclochog (five minutes’ drive) is the nearest village with all local amenities, including shops, a café, pub and a petrol station. For more major stocking-up, the market town of Narberth (15 minutes) has a handy supermarket as well as various high-street stores.

FHU grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Diane and Geraint could not be two nicer, more welcoming and accommodating people. They ensured I was comfortable and happy the whole time, offering recommendations and making my stay amazing. The space is stunning, so much space (perfect for my lil dog to run free), it’s so peaceful and quiet, I didn’t hear a peep. Would 100% recommend to anyone planning on staying in the area :)

FHU grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Friendly and helpful owners, great views, peaceful, large pitches. The owners gave us useful information about nearby places, and it's definitely worth visiting Tafarn Sinc for a meal, what a quirky pub! The shower and toilet were clean, if basic. Very good TV signal and mobile signal

Disliked: No hand-wash basin in toilet, had to wash hands outside.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Its very remote and absolutely quiet. The pitch was huge. The farmer was very helpful when my electric hook up was broken loaning me theirs for the night. The toilet and shower was only 1 per sex. However very clean and the shower was very warm. Good recycling and bin facilities. Limited number of tents on site which I liked. Totally loved this site.

Disliked: outdoor sink. Could do with hot water to clean dishes. Also a separate sink for toilets would be nice as some people were cleaning their teeth in the same cold water sink others were washing dishes in.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Large pitches are fully serviced-even had our own tap! Beautiful views, sunsets and stars. Plenty of room to enjoy and chill out. Friendly and helpful owners.

Disliked: No footpaths from site-but we knew that. One female and male toilet and shower with cold no cover washing up facilities-but I wouldn’t be put off by that. Great powerful and free shower

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Bloomfield Farm is a quiet, very well maintained greenfield high up on the side of a hill with views for miles and miles on a clear day. Farmer G and his wife were very friendly and helpful. There are multiple pitches around the edge of the field with a tap and electric hook up, but the very large green field stays clear so you have lots of room. There's two toilets and two showers which are very new, clean and work well - built into wooden huts; There's also a sink for hand washing. On a clear night it's very dark with a fantastic display of stars. Location wise it's a 1.5miles from Maenclochog up the road with a local shop, cafe, garage and pub. Narbeth is 10 miles away with more choice of shops and places to eat and drink - a lovely town. The roads are very very quiet, so driving easy. Cardigan, Fishguard, St Davids, Tenby, Pembroke, etc are all between 35-45 minutes away on fairly quiet roads, it gets a bit busier as you head further south.

Disliked: I didn't dislike anything - it was so peaceful, with so much space and all very well maintained. I'd say the my only dislike was having to pack up and come home!

Local attractions

Grab the hiking boots and head for the Preseli Hills (20 minutes’ drive) for a thorough workout on steep gradients with superb views, or have a yomp up to Foel Cwmcerwyn (25 minutes), the highest point in Pembrokeshire. If you'd rather be out on the water, go kayaking at Llys-y-Frân Country Park and Reservoir (10 minutes), while cyclists circumnavigate the lake or zoom down mountain-biking trails. You're never too far from the coast in Pembrokeshire, with more cycling and hiking adventures on offer, as well as beaches like Newport Sands (half an hour), which has shallow water suitable for kids wanting to swim. Other family-oriented days out include the daredevil rollercoaster rides at Oakwood Theme Park (20 minutes), where there is also mini golf and an air target shooting range, or Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (25 minutes), where younger kids can get up close to furry farmyard animals and have a whizz around on fairground carousels.
