  • Small, quiet site with sea views; two miles from the coast at Llanelli
  • Within half an hour's drive of the Gower Peninsula and Brecon Beacons
  • Great cycling access to Swiss Valley Trail and Millennium Coastal Path
A well-placed Carmarthenshire site with stunning sea views, Caemawr Camping and Caravan Site is a small, quiet spot close to Llanelli. There's plenty to do around and about – coastal strolls along the Millennium Coastal Path, taking in the Swiss Valley Trail's green vistas by bike or driving out to the Gower Peninsula and Brecon Beacons are all options on the table. You can expect flat and level grounds for pitching up on, as well as a modern shower and toilet block. Other than that, you'll be left to your own devices – it's up to you whether you opt to set up a barbecue, kindle a campfire, cycle five minutes down the road for dinner at the nearest pub or take the dog (if you've brought one) out for walks on the beach. Speaking of the sea, Caemawr Camping and Caravan Site is roughly two miles from the nearest stretch of coast, where local highlights include Llanelli beach, the Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Club and Sandy Water Park, a peaceful nature watching spot brimming with birdlife.

Power optional gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Denise is amazing .. so friendly and works hard to ensure you have a good stay..

This was our fourth visit this year. We love the quietness and large pitches.

No free wifi on site but as there is a Satalite tower near.. so no issues picking up wifi or ariel signal.. the farm is near to a small village felinfoel with take aways, Pubs and shops SA14 8LB.... the site is just a few miles from llanelli which has everything to may need...

Wonderful views as you located up high up over the valley..

Very relaxed and layer back site with loads of room for ball games..
Loved watching the lads play Cricieth.. while sitting in the sun with a drink or two..

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely and quiet; honestly, it was so peaceful.

Disliked There's 3 toilets and one shower for the site. I couldn't lock the door; I think there's a method to doing it, but the note stuck to the door was faded. So twice people walked in on me.

The power to the single shower went down; so no shower for two nights. We left after the first, but was offered a refund for the 2nd night.

Not washing doesn't bother me, but my missis who runs didn't fancy a 2nd night without a shower.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify for future guests, we have 3 toilets and 3 showers available on site, each with a lock located by the handle inside for privacy and security.

Unfortunately, during your stay there was an unexpected power cut which was completely out of our control. A refund was issued for the remaining nights.

Power optional gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Spectacular scenery. Well-maintained pitches and grounds. Good sized shower rooms. Convenient location for lots of areas of interest.

Disliked Only 2 toilets (1 male and 1 female), wasn’t an issue for us as there weren’t many people on the site but the site has the capacity for many tourers and I think 2 toilets could be problematic.

Power optional gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Quiet and peaceful with nice view and lovely toilet and shower block.
Advisement from site on how to get there was amazing due to lots of small b roads around it. Would advise to follow this if travelling in motorhome or caravan.

Local attractions

Exploring the Llanelli area is perhaps best done by bike – you can pedal up to the peaceful Lliedi Reservoirs (15 minutes' cycle) for a picnic before heading back to base, or make a day of it and continue on to the National Botanic Garden of Wales (an hour and 30 minutes by bike or half an hour by car), where those arriving on two wheels get a discount on the price of entry. Next, you might like to stretch your legs by heading to the Brecon Beacons (from 30 minutes' drive) – make sure to pack sensibly sturdy footwear if your plans involve top treks like the Ystradfellte Four Waterfalls Walk (an hour) or hikes around Carreg Cennen Castle (45 minutes). The national park is also home to less energetic attractions like the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (50 minutes) and the Brecon Mountain Railway (an hour). Yet another option would be to take a driving tour of the gorgeous Gower Peninsula (from 30 minutes) to soak up some of South Wales' best seascapes. The sweeping sands of Rhossili Bay (50 minutes) will probably be part of most itineraries, but for something a little different you could also head to the Swansea side of the peninsula for jetski safaris around Oxwich Bay (40 minutes).
