Local attractions

There are plenty of outdoor activities nearby, including mountain bike trails in Brechfa Forest (10 minutes' drive) and walks in the surrounding area or the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park (40 minutes). You may also fancy trying archery, assault courses and even sumo wrestling at Aspirations Outdoor Activities (35 minutes) – or perhaps taking it a little easier with a ride on the Gwili Steam Railway (20 minutes). The National Wool Museum (40 minutes) will give you an insight into one of the area’s key products; those who like to get crafty for themselves can do so at FibreFrenzy (45 minutes) or Phoenix Forge blacksmiths (25 minutes). For other days out, dip into local history at places like Carreg Cennen Castle (40 minutes) and Castell Henllys Iron Age Village (an hour), visit the National Botanic Garden of Wales (20 minutes) or take the kids to Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (45 minutes). The coast isn't far off, either – head south to Laugharne (40 minutes) and Pembrey Country Park (45 minutes) or west to Cardigan and Mwnt (an hour).
