Liked Owners are very friendly and helpful. Pitches were a good size, level and reasonably priced. Nice quiet peaceful location, we even extended our stay. Toilet and shower are nice and clean, shower is £1 but its well worth the £1, good sized proper shower, good water temperature and pressure 👌🏼
Cafe food and latte was really nice they even opened on a day they dont normally open for an hour as a few of us said we would like to get breakfast if possible.
Would definitely come again if in the area.

Disliked When we washed up the water wasnt hot, even after running the tap but only negative I can think of

Bell tent

Liked We had a wonderful 5-night stay in the bell tent with our two children and our dog, and we all absolutely loved it. The bell tent camp feels incredibly private and is in the best spot on the site, with a peaceful and beautiful view overlooking the fishing pond. The tent itself was spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable with clean sheets, ensuring a cozy night's sleep. The provided log burner kept us warm on cooler evenings.

The camp was superbly equipped. The little campfire area with plenty of chairs was a fantastic touch, and having a ready supply of wood was so convenient. The communal kitchen and picnic area was brilliant for storing our supplies and cooking, with a gas burner and all the essentials like plates and cutlery provided. The kids (and us!) adored the hammock—it was the perfect spot to relax and nap.

The owners were so lovely and welcoming, always on hand to help and check that we had enough wood and fire lighters. The location is also perfect for exploring South Wales, with some of the best beaches within easy driving distance and supermarkets just 15 minutes away.

Disliked There were only a couple of minor points. The hot water for the dishwashing area seemed to be in short supply, which was a bit of a niggle, though we managed by boiling our own water to finish off the pans. We also went through a lot of gas for our stove, but I'm sure the friendly owners would happily provide more if you asked, we didn't because we had brought our own spares.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review and gorgeous photos! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us.
The hot water is something that we are in the process of sorting so that it should be better when we are particularly busy, but thank you for your understanding - we are so pleased the rest of the site made up for it!

Outstanding site,friendly welcome ,clean facilities.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked We've just returned home from a 5 night stay at Garnffrwd....
The small site/fishery is outstanding and very well kept .Dani and Phil have only owned the site for a few weeks but they are doing a great job, very friendly and welcoming .
The onsite cafe serves a very tasty breakfast, there is also a shower and toilets which were always spotlessly clean , there are also wash-up facilities.
In the grounds there is a very picturesque fishing lake which you can walk around, lots of wildlife and very peaceful .
Looking forward to returning very soon 👍

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We booked late in the day and arrived close to the latest check-in time, but the owners kindly accommodated us — a big relief. We were warmly welcomed by Dani, the new owner, who has only recently relocated here with her family.

The site itself is quiet, well-kept, and offers thoughtful touches: separate areas for families and adults-only camping, plus beautiful grounds set around a championship fly-fishing lake. We pitched under a wonderful old oak tree, which felt perfect.

Facilities are excellent: newly installed showers (£1 for 10 minutes of hot water — great value) and everything is clean and well-maintained. The on-site café is small but plentiful, and the breakfast baps and coffee the next morning were spot-on.

What really stood out was the value for money and the sense of peace across the site. For anyone looking for a quiet stay in a beautiful setting with friendly hosts, Garnffrwd Park is an absolute gem. Highly recommended.

Disliked Nothing major to dislike — only that our stay was too short!

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked The perfect place if you want peace and tranquility. Just pure relaxation, everything you need on site for the most chilled weekend.

The owners Phil and Dani are amazing , we forgot our tent pegs , we thought we’d give Phil and dani a ring to see if they sold any on site , they didn’t but the dropped they’re personal ones up without any hesitation. Honestly the kindest of people and always willing to help , felt like we’d known them for years.

The shower and toilet are perfect for what you need yes there is only two toilets and one shower on site , but not once did we have to wait to use them , always super clean and tidy and the site was fully booked and you wouldn’t even know that it was.

Cafe on site for a perfect coffee and breakfast sitting out taking in the beautiful fishing lake.

I’d most definitely recommend you visit this site if you want complete relaxation for the time you’re there. We’ve already booked again.

Liked Beautiful grounds and lake all immaculately kept. One male and one female toilet plus a shower room, all kept clean, cafe was reasonably priced and the staff and owners were all lovely. Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Secluded location & in the vicinity for the Welsh Botanic Gardens

Disliked Set up more as a fishery than a camp site.
Vehicles passing early hours on site (presume to go and fish).
Not much to do if you are not into fishing.
Didn't find any dish washing facilities.
Understand that the owners have only had the place for under two months, however some basic things still need attention.
One more thing, while i have my critical hat on, it can be a bit tight up the lanes if you approach the wrong way.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked A gem in South Wales! I was looking for somewhere quiet, scenic with good clean basic facilities. This site ticks all those boxes. The lovely couple have only taken it over 5 weeks ago and are always on hand to help if needed.
Grassy pitches with a quiet location behind the trees was ideal for me.
Great full English in the cafe!
Definitely recommend it if you want something quiet, scenic and peaceful.

Disliked For me, none.

Liked The owner was lovely so helpful and welcoming the lake is so so beautiful, loved the wildlife , feeding the fish didn’t get chance to use the lake side cafe but it looked lovely will be back for sure

Disliked There is only 1 male and female toilet and 1 unisex shower which is the only part we struggled with.
