What customers say
This quiet, well-kept site in a lovely rural spot offers local walks and Llandegfedd Reservoir access. Owners are frequently praised as friendly and helpful. Facilities are basic, very clean (port-a-potties, water taps). Some noted weak phone signal, occasional camper noise, and felt it was a bit pricey for amenities. Recommended for a peaceful, no-frills stay.

Lovely spot, close to a quiet road and very friendly, helpful hosts!
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Very quiet campsite. We had it to ourselves! There’s a nice little stream running through the bottom of the field and very good value for money! The reservoir trail is a lovely walk not far from the campsite. The owners were lovely!
Disliked Our fault, but we parked on a muddy part of the field and struggled to get out after more rain. The owners were amazing and helped us straight away! Recommend camping on first field straight as you come in! (I was told this by the owner but forgot!) We struggled with phone signal so downloading a map first is a good idea!

Liked Nice, quiet site with basic amenities which were all we needed for staying in our van. The owner even helped us push the van a bit when we got a bit stuck in the wet ground. Birdsong in the morning was lovely, as were the dark skies for seeing stars at night.

Liked Well maintained pitches. Friendly owner
Disliked This is not a complaint but an opinion.
I knew before I booked that there were no showers, but I was expecting proper toilets (not just two portaloos) with handwashing facilties and a sink to wash dishes.
With the fact these are absent along with no showers and no dustbins , £20 is too expensive. The site was clean and neat but just a field.
Also asking to phone when you arrive is pointless when there is no signal available

From the manager: Dear Nicola
We are sorry to hear of your disappointment when visiting Cwmsoar.
We are a basic site, semi wild. However our site is a well maintained field for people who enjoy the country, without the formality of larger sites.
We pride ourselves living in such a lovely part of Wales and being able to share with visitors.
We are as advertised, have basic facilities with porta loos/handgel that are regularly cleaned/serviced.
Running water for handwashing within a few steps.
Mobile signal is variable but we are on site if needed.

A lovely compact simple site in a very beautiful part of the world
Primitive grass RV campsite
Liked Beautiful small site with access to some stunning trails, the motor home pitches were completely level. Easy access to the water taps and the owners are close by and friendly.
Disliked Not much, Showers and proper toilets would perfect the site but there were lots of warnings so I can’t say I didn’t know
