Primitive grass and earth tent or RV campsite

Liked: Incredible views of the Valley, plenty of open space, wasn’t overly busy and all the people working there were incredibly helpful.

Disliked: My only comments would be to bring bug repellents for the evenings.

Primitive grass and earth tent or RV campsite

Liked: Loved the park next to the bar with outdoor seating, views are stunning, woods are right there, bike tracks in lots of directions.

Disliked: Bugs, not the sites fault, but would recommend a fire for the early evening to keep them away

Primitive grass and earth tent or RV campsite

Liked: Nice place with Great views. We were sleeping in tent and whenever we woke up the view was making our day. Place have tap water, toilets and showers(not included in price). Pitch area is big and y have no limits in space. There is even restaurant with outside play area for kids.

Disliked: Food in the restaurant was just average, but I would happily use the restaurant again as it would help support this place.

Primitive grass and earth tent or RV campsite

Liked: Great fun, really chilled site, great facilities. Showers are £2 but are worth the money. Fresh made Pizza Hut at the bottom of the field. 🍕 decent play park for the kids too.

Disliked: The gnats. But the fire scared them off.

Local attractions

If you need a little bit of relaxing time to recover from all the activities at the forest park, how about a trip to the beach? It’ll take you about 25 minutes to drive to Aberavon beach or around 40 minutes to Ogmore-by-Sea, where you can also stop by at the castle. That said, there’s still scope for activity down at the coast: Ogmore has horse riding outings, while Rest Bay (half an hour’s drive) is well known for surfing and bodyboarding. Keen to keep the adventures coming? How about ziplining from a former colliery tower at Zip World Tower (35 minutes), tackling the trails of Bike Park Wales (45 minutes) or walking behind a curtain of water on the Four Waterfalls Walk (45 minutes)? After all that you might just need a little tot of whisky from the Penderyn Distillery Visitor Centre (35 minutes), or perhaps just a leisurely walk along one of the beaches of the Gower Peninsula (45 minutes).
