What customers say

Friendly, welcoming site with helpful owners. Pitches are level & spacious, facilities clean but dated. Convenient location for sightseeing/transit. Downsides: notable road noise, some feel price is high. Earplugs recommended for traffic.

Liked The only thing was Sharon the owner friendly

Disliked The facilities are absolutely disgusting we have photos, the shower block was filthy and run down the drain was overflowing with sewage, the toilets where chipped and broken and unusable.
You are in between two main roads, very noisy and no footpaths to walk safely on
Would not recommend this site to anyone
No shop no amenities and very expensive £92 for two nights left early the next morning only stopped one night 🙈🙈

From the manager: Thank you for your review Sharon, to say the facilities are disgusting is rather extreme with overflowing sewerage ? I did check the chip on the toilet seat which has now been changed, (there are 3 toilets) yes we are between 2 B roads but you chose the site, I find it odd that you posted a review but you didn't read any reviews before booking as it tells you about the 2 roads, as for shops and amenities we don't advertise that there are those on the site, Its just a FIELD I suggest you google in future, you booked through a site who charge us for the privalidge for advertising on there site

Our first stay but certainly won’t be our last can’t wait to return

Liked Easy to find, welcoming staff. All amenities on site including water, electric hook up and shower block.

Disliked Due to been close to road it was noisy on a night but this can not be helped due to its location.
Shower was dated but clean.
Was expensive in comparison for more well equipped sites. 1 night at £45 in august but average rate for our other stays £20.

Liked The lady that run it, was helpful in regards to helping find a pitch that suited us. It did us for 1 night.

Disliked Toilets/showers weren’t the cleanest and there was a smell of drains. The whole site was dated. It cost us £45 and so I expected a lot more. The lady said if we booked direct, it would have been £30 but I feel that it just wasn’t worth that. Location wasn’t great

Liked Nothing

Disliked Shower & toilet facilities dated with poor maintenance.
Surrounded by two busy roads resulting in lots of traffic noise.
Promoted as being dog friendly but limited space to walk one on site and due to the busy roads difficult to walk off the site.

Local attractions

The beach at Barry Island is a smashing sandy stretch that’s fab for families, with its sheltered shallow waters, numerous cafés and amusements to play with; it also welcomes dogs in certain areas. If you’re looking for something a little different, head half an hour along the coast to Southerndown for surf schools, or to Ogmore-by-Sea to ride horses along the sand. Cardiff’s a cracking city to visit, too – on top of a generous range of shops, restaurants and the like, the Welsh capital is also home to all manner of leisure facilities including an ice rink, go-kart track and whitewater rafting centre. If you’re after something a bit more cultural there are always shows to take in at the Wales Millennium Centre, and visits to Cardiff Castle and the excellent (and free) indoor/outdoor exhibits at St Fagans National Museum of History. More? There are three golf courses within a 10-minute drive, a designer outlet village half an hour away and a bunch more castles to saunter around (Fonmon Castle, five minutes away, is always good for a foray).
