Set in 10 acres of woodland and meadow

  • Well-equipped site in an Anglesey meadow with mountain views
  • A 20-minute drive to Snowdonia, Anglesey Sea Zoo and Foel Farm Park
  • Yoga sessions on site; forest trails, shops, pubs and beaches close by
Erw Deg Glamping is in a spectacular spot near Llandegfan on Anglesey, with views over to Snowdonia. Here, you are surrounded by fields and wildlife, so explore the 10 acres of meadows and woodland, build a den, paddle in the stream or simply chill and watch the sunset. The site is secluded, spacious and mighty convenient for families and couples to get to beaches, hiking trails and mountains. A car is a must for exploring though, as the location is very rural and buses don’t run regularly. The owners are happy to recommend special days out and places to eat, and there are loads of activities round and about, from horse riding and cycling to surfing. One of your hosts is also a yoga teacher and offers outdoor sessions for guests. There is a very good shop in Llandegfan village, which stocks Anglesey craft beer and locally produced food, plus a major supermarket (both five minutes’ drive). You're welcome to take your evening drinks and camping chairs anywhere on the 10-acre site. There’s also a covered area with a hot shower and compost loo.

Ceian primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Location - perfect for visiting local towns of Menai and Beaumaris. Local village shop is sufficient to keep you stocked up. Hosts - Bethan & Dave made me feel more than welcome and were very helpful in all aspects. Facilities - everything you need on site. Static caravan is a great little hub for the campsite and provides all you would need in terms of campsite living. Views - breathtaking views across the Menai Strait towards Snowdonia make this the picture perfect spot.

Ceian primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: The views, the location, the camp size, the camp fire and Dave and Bethan, the owners

Disliked: The shower was fickle, switching from hot to cold to hot, which wasn’t fun. Having only one toilet and one shower would be an issue in peak season

From the manager: Thank you for coming to Erw Deg and for your lovely comments. We hope you and your family had a good stay. We try to make it clear in our literature that the camping site is car-free for everyone’s safety, and that there is no electricity or wi-fi. I hope it didn’t affect your stay too much and we would love to host you again. Best wishes, Bethan

Ceian primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: The view was incredible and the meadow was really well maintained with communal mown areas for games. The hosts were very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Excellent location to get to both sides of Angelsey . The site is small and peaceful. The caravan sofa area was incredibly helpful camping in a small tent with young children- a perfect spot to sit in bad weather in the evening. Will definitely revisit for another family weekend.

Disliked: The shower was really hot and the toilet was clean and well looked after. Whilst we visited the site was quiet and we had no problem accessing the facilities. I wonder if it might be tricky if the site was full.

Bell tent (no electricity)

Liked: The location is excellent base for Beaumaris, the cairn and lovely clean beaches. There is a retail park with supermarkets 10 mins away with an Aldi and Lidl. The views from the site are stunning. We saw birds of prey, foxes and squirrels. I wasn’t aware when booking but there is a well maintained static for guests which was an excellent hub for children to mingle and make friends. The kitchen facilities were great if you don’t have the kit or the weather is bad. Shower is inside the static which I loved as it felt more private and homely. Plenty of warm water. The compost toilet was never smelly. Beds are clean, comfortable and warm. Bethan works so hard to keep it spotless and is very welcoming. The option to choose the level of camping vs glamping is a godsend with small children. Great family vibe, good value and we will definitely return.

Bell tent (no electricity)

Liked: Thank you Bethan and family for such a lovely few days rest with our two young boys. Facilities were great and the added children's books and ball games were great! I really enjoyed a walk on the local footpath, so many blackberries! 100% recommend this lovely campsite with a breathtaking view. Great location for beach, castle, mountains and good places to eat!

Ceian primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: The camp site was excellent for our family. The owners were very helpful and the site was open with lots of space for my 3 boys to play. The pitch was large enough for our tent with plenty of space between pitches and good access to drinking water, toilets and shower.

Disliked: My only grip and its a small one, being over 6ft I found the shower a bit cramped, it was however clean and tidy with plenty of hot water.

Ceian primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Amazing views Very friendly and lovely hosts Being ‘off grid’ … composting loo, plant based products for the shower, lots of focus on reducing waste / impact, quiet Pitched mowed out of the meadow grass with tonnes of space. Woodland to walk in Books and games in the communal static caravan

Disliked: Pitches are just a bit too far away from the parking. It’s quite a walk up a steep hill and if it was roasting hot or raining every day this could become a bit of an issue. Could do with a cover / roof of sorts over the outside washing up area for when it rains . For a single person in a tent I thought it was a tad expensive. Although I do appreciate that I was paying for the experience of space and quiet (this is not a crowded site where people are jammed in).
