Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The views were stunning and there was ample room to pitch anywhere you wanted. Although it is a pop up site the toilet wash room and shower block was in very good condition and was kept spotlessly clean. The owners were very friendly and eager to help in any way I cannot fault this site in any way regarding what I was looking for and not only will I be going back I intend to use it as our Anglesey base camp for near future fishing trips with friends. The price to stay there is very reasonable and is an absolute bargain. Well done Llain Ffynnon camping and thankyou for our stay

Primitive grass and earth travel trailer campsite

Liked: Everything. Lovely people. Amazing views. Basic but spotless sanitary facilities although only cold shower but we have our own. Fresh, grey and black water. No EHU but didn't need it. Great spot within half an hour of ferry.

Disliked: Only the very narrow approach roads. Just take your time.

Primitive grass and earth travel trailer campsite

Liked: Fantastic views from this friendly, family run campsite. They like to keep a close eye on things and the refreshingly basic facilities in tip top condition. Eggs from the farm were available to buy. A bike would be great here although you would probably have to push it up hill to get back!

Disliked: Can be a bit windy!

Primitive grass and earth travel trailer campsite

Liked: This site is a gem. Facilities exactly as advertised - cold water only - but exceptionally clean toilets and showers. The host was friendly and helpful and the vibe is very chilled and relaxed. There is plenty of room onsite and the views are outstanding. Very close to the coastal path and other walks. The dog and I loved it. I’ll definitely be back.

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: It was a amazing site plenty of places to go around the coast line The site has toilets really clean a sink area to wash your dishes there is 1 shower if you like a cold one and you also have fire pits bring your own wood the people are nice and kind will help you with anything you need to know also the campsite is not overpriced like some or. What hell can I say for pitching a tent spot on, no Wi-Fi on site but you do get a signal on your phone okay

Disliked: All good for me 🫡👍

Primitive grass and earth travel trailer campsite

Liked: The views are just stunning all round, pick your own pitch. Basic site but ideal if your self contained, there are toilets that I saw being cleaned regularly and a (cold) shower but was fine to wash my hair. Washing up areas are a good size and drinking water available.

Disliked: Was quite hard to find a level pitch navigating around tent campers. Would be an idea if tents and vans where separate purely for safety

Local attractions

You might first spot the Goleudŷ Ynysoedd y Moelrhoniaid (The Skerries Lighthouse) from the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. Up close, after a chartered boat ride from Holyhead (25 minutes’ drive), the view is even better, and the birdwatching just as splendid. The seabird colony at Cemlyn North Wales Wildlife Trust Reserve (10 minutes’ drive) is pretty spectacular to watch too. A shingle ridge, lagoon and plants such as sea kale and sea campion are part of the highlight reel at this place – just the thing if you're a fan of spying on wildlife. Those of you who are planning on spending a lot of your downtime beside the sea will be happy to find that there are a number of beaches that are easy to get to from Llain Ffynnon Camping. In fact, the National Trust’s Traeth Ynys y Fydlyn is half an hour’s walk away, and there are caves and rockpools to rummage around down there. Further out, other gorgeous beach locations include Cemlyn Bay (15 minutes’ drive), Porth Trwyn (10 minutes) and Traeth Porth Wen Beach (15 minutes).
