  • Sea views on site; short walk from Talybont station
  • Access to facilities of sister site including swimming pool
Settle in for sea views from several corners of the site at Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park in Gwynedd, in the seaside village of Tal-y-Bont and a couple of miles from the beaut beach at Barmouth. Pods and pitches here are flanked by sea and mountain views, and are within easy walking distance of the village, which has a takeaway and a riverside pub. Even closer is Talybont station, a couple of minutes' walk away and handy for outings to Barmouth beach or north to the peaks of Snowdonia. Showers, toilets and a washing-up area are available on site. The pitch price at Tyddyn Goronwy also includes a free leisure pass to its sister park Sunnysands Caravan Park, a short drive away, to use its heated indoor pool, café, fish and chip shop and other facilities – and you might want to stick around for the spectacular beachfront sunsets too.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Lovely quite site, plenty to do with-in a 10 minute walk, beach, pub, shop, amusements, chippy etc. The warden was helpful and the basic facilities where available. Will book again.

Disliked: Few small repairs required in the shower block, outside sink for pits could do with a basic cover so you can wash pots in the rain, plots are far from level, but managed to get them to work. As said above, would stop again though, just points that would make it nicer

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Ideal campsite for location of beach , walks ,bars , sightseeing nearby villages in own vehicle bus or train all on door step or nearby , campsite it’s self perfect for myself and friend clean showers and toilets just the condensation traps the little flies but is cleaned regularly hook up and water right next to our pitch 9 . Elsan sink undercover near toilets and bins .pass access to sister sites clubs .staff helpful.

Disliked: Only one washing up sink and not undercover from rain etc , flooding right on wooden walk way deep enough to go over shoes on way into toilets , extra on field water taps needed as one right by us was used by a lot so in summer would be more sodden and muddy and is right next to the electric hook up cables, ideally one near trees more to centre away from pitch, was fine for us for 3 nights and filed very quiet,

Local attractions

To Barmouth first, of course: its position on the north Wales coast surrounded by Snowdonia National Park makes it a popular and pretty place to visit – and the huge beach is pretty special to see as well. Away from the coast (eventually), a wide range of activities is available around Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park, from cycling to hiking to pony trekking – or strap on lots of energy and tackle the Snowdon and Cadair Idris mountain ranges a short distance away. A chuffing good way to see the spectacular scenery of north Wales is on one of its small steam trains: the nearest to Tyddyn Goronwy are the Fairbourne Steam Railway just outside Barmouth and the Ffestiniog Railway about 10 miles away.
