Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping. This is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike all day long, and it's peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range and the north Wales countryside. There are walking routes directly from the site, good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure. One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course. There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. The pitches are spacious, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the scenery.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Well organised site with plenty of room between pitches. Electric was right by the pitch which makes a refreshing change from some sites. The views from all round the site were amazing. On the Sunday evening a cocktail trailer was on site serving lovely cocktails. Considering the size of the site and number of pitches it was very quiet with no trouble from what we experienced.

Disliked: Little on the expensive side. On reflection the site was a little too large for what we normally book, but that is just our preference and not a negative on the site. The showers did run out of hot water early evening which was frustrating, especially with a face full of soap!

Liked: Friendly staff, clean shower blocks. The site was well maintained. Absolutely gorgeous views a steam train and river running through the park. There were plenty walks and mountains to climb and a great view of Snowdon. Will definitely be returning soon.

Liked: Well laid out pitches, clearly marked. Clean toilets. Good shop facilities. Security barrier was excellent. Despite staying on a bank holiday weekend the campsite and facilities were excellent. Toilets and showers were always clean with good washing up facilities attached. The shop had an excellent stock of essentials and wood for our fire pit.

Liked: Well kept flat level plots with plenty of facilities readily available around site, clean and tidy and staff very helpful and friendly been co I g here since kids were little and it was pretty much a field and portacabin, certainly gone up in standards but still as peaceful and beautiful

Legend says Gelert, a hound belonging to a Welsh prince, is buried in Beddgelert (15 minutes’ drive). Visit the grave, take in the views from the Aberglaslyn Pass (15 minutes) and then visit the Sygun Copper Mine (20 minutes) to learn more about the conditions in 19th-century mines. Adventurous types can tackle the fastest zipwire in the world at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (half an hour). With underground trampolines based in slate caverns, you’re likely to work up a sweat. GreenWood Family Park (20 minutes) has traditional rides, including family-friendly rollercoasters. Where next? Perhaps Caernarfon Airport (25 minutes), where there’s an aviation museum and pleasure flights along the Menai Strait and around Snowdon? Portmeirion (35 minutes), an Italianate village featured on the telly? Or Llanberis (20 minutes), where the mountain railway departs? Llanberis is close to the National Slate Museum (20 minutes), which has the largest working water wheel in Britain.

Changes to your holiday

Modifications are subject to a £10.00 ($12.32) fee.

Admission

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The park is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.
