  • Spacious site a short drive from Eryri/Snowdonia National Park
  • Within easy reach of beaches, watersports and a mountain railway
  • Barbecues welcome and several supermarkets within easy reach
Seeking a sojourn within easy reach of the smashingly spectacular Eryri/Snowdonia National Park? Close to several splendid beaches and within easy reach by car or bike from several towns for foodie spots and cosy pubs? Treborth Hall Farm Caravan Site should, then, tick off a fair few of your Welsh holiday boxes. This peaceful walled park is a 20-minute walk from the Anglesey Isle town of Menai Bridge, home to several traditional pubs and other eateries for off-site sips and scoffs. You can be in Bangor on your bike in 15 minutes too, or hop in the car and be there in less than 10; highly beau Beaumaris is bikeable too – reach it in a little over half an hour on two wheels, or be there in half the time on four. When it comes to stuff for kids to do, they’ve got reams of room to roam freely around, plus a play area too should they require fun structures to clamber on; for a spot of gentle grownup activity, there's a public footpath just outside that forms a loop connecting to the Wales Coast Path, which in turn provides access to Treborth Botanic Garden. For food on site you’re more than welcome to get a barbecue going – several supermarkets are within easy reach around the nearby towns for all your sizzling supplies, and there are also lots of pubs, restaurants and takeaways too. Among the on-site amenities are toilets and two shower blocks with coin-operated showers with plenty of piping-hot water.

Liked: Nothing really

Disliked: Site description is very misleading. No walks from the site unless you want to walk along the main road, even asked the Warden for advice. Toilets in motorhome area very poor, old portakabin with collapsed floor. Pitches small and uneven. Hook-up not working. Constant road noise. Expensive for what you get.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Has a great wild camping field. Electric hookups on designated tent pitches. Toilet/shower block was clean. Great location for visiting the North Wales attractions or stopping over prior to catching a Holyhead ferry to Ireland. New owner is obliging and keen to help. Very handy for the North Wales Expressway A55. Electric is included in the fee so no coin meters.

Disliked: Showers are poor. Toilet/shower block desperately needs modernising. Only 2 shower cubicles and they are too small to change in. You need to change outside the cubicle &】][]]00= get in quickly as the timer doesn't allow long enough for a decent shower. The timed shower 'on' button is outside the cubicle so if it times out you need to exit the cubicle to turn it back on. Electric tent pitches are mostly sloping. Trains and vehicle traffic can be heard.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (two person)

Liked: Interesting campsite with multiple areas to pitch up. I chose the large quiet field where the odd train rumbled past unseen beyond the old woods. Great facilities and turning up early to park my car while I went off cycling for the day was no problem, thank you. An excellent base for exploring Anglesey or Snowdonia, midway between Britannia and Menai Bridges. Would definitely stay again.

Disliked: Nope!
