  • Small site 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Llandudno
  • A 10-minute drive from Great Orme walks and Conwy Castle
  • Woodland walks just behind the site
Sea air, stacks of places to eat, scenic strolls and stunning Snowdonia a short drive away… lovely Llandudno’s a nifty location for a north Wales break. Excellently placed for all the above is Tan Yr Allt Hall, flanked by woodlands on the eastern edge of town and in an elevated position with fab views out towards the sea and over to the Great Orme. Footpaths run through the estate behind the hall: excellent news for those who need to stretch their legs after a long drive, or fancy seeking out a place to picnic. In the mood for something more substantial? A range of restaurants is in Llandudno’s centre, along with plenty of cafés, pubs and a sizeable supermarket – and it’ll only take you a mere 10 minutes or so to meander down there. A similar length of stroll will land you at one of the town’s two beaches; if it’s not paddling weather, the town’s also got golf, a skiing and snowboarding centre, and great walks on the Great Orme, plus shops in which to spend your pocket money.

Liked: If you want to stay on Llandudno, this is the place. The location and view are perfect. Very friendly and helpful owners. There's not a huge amount of space but we were absolutely fine in our 6m motorhome. Some reviewers have mentioned difficult / narrow access but it really is perfectly adequate.

Power optional cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked: We arrived late around 1am so understandably nobody was there to greet us. I think signage at the bottom of the track up to the site could be more visible but this was probably also due to tiredness and how dark it was. We were in a campervan and chose a flat pitch overlooking Llandudno and the views are great. In the morning the kids used the trampoline and swing. There's water and electric hook up and a very rudimentary outdoor toilet. Good base to have a look around Llandudno which is a lovely place but possibly wouldn't stop again due to lack of shower and toilet facilities (but was aware of this at booking)

Disliked: Lack of showers, toilets and pot washing but site doesn't pretend to be something it's not

Liked: Really good location, great views of The Orme and sea front, and a short walk to the main promenade. Felt quite secure and secluded in it's location due to the private access drive and surrounding trees.

Power optional cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked: The view, it was incredible. Ease of access to electric, water & chemical waste disposal. Friendly & helpful owner. Quiet area.

Disliked: The hills back to the site after a walk into town - but you only get the great views because you are above the other houses.

Liked: Greeted by friendly staff who was happy to assist with us getting pitched up. Stunning views over Llandudno, lovely walk in to town centre. Kids loved the rope swing the best.

Disliked: Drove past the entrance 3 times as only a small sign.

Local attractions

There’s no missing the Great Orme in Llandudno – the huge limestone headland towers over the town, and is a fab place to spend a few hours. Walk over the there in about half an hour (or drive in 10 minutes) for walks in the Great Orme Country Park, including hikes up the mini mountain if your muscles permit. If not, clamber on board the cable car or the tramway to be taken to the top for stunning sea views. Point your car south and 10 minutes’ drive will take you instead to mighty Conwy Castle, standing strong since the 13th century, or to the Welsh Mountain Zoo, for close encounters with rare beasties including snow leopards, gibbons and lemurs. Once you’ve warmed up with walks on the Great Orme, perhaps you’ll be ready to make your way up Snowdon, 45 minutes away (again, there’s a train to the top for those whose legs rebel against such antics). Heaps of other trails both lung-busting and less demanding await around Snowdonia National Park too (try Betws-y-Coed, half an hour away, as a good starting point), and there’s a rare chance to surf among mountain scenery at Surf Snowdonia, 20 minutes’ drive from the site.
