Liked Wonderful friendly Welcome from the Managers. Pitch 10 is large and bright with a picnic bench. Toilets and Showers… WOW simply THE BEST! Like having your own personal bathroom!

From the manager: Dear Claires mum and dad,

Thank you so much for your lovely review! It was a real pleasure welcoming you, and I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us.

I’m delighted you liked Pitch 10 – it really is a great spot with plenty of space and light, and it’s wonderful to know the picnic bench made it even more enjoyable for you.

Your kind words about the toilet and shower facilities truly made our day! We worked hard to make sure they’re spotless, private, and comfortable – so hearing that you found them to be “WOW” and like your own personal bathroom is just fantastic.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback. We’d love to welcome you back anytime!

Liked Absolutely loved our weekend at Riverbend!
Fantastic sized pitches, super clean facilities and amazing staff. Angie, Lindsey, Becca and Max were wonderful with our young boys. They spent time showing them all the wonders of the park, helping them pick apples and blackberries to eat, hazelnuts and making potpourri with their finds from around the park.
The playground and river were an absolute treat for them too. Our cocker spaniel thoroughly enjoyed a run in the dog meadow and a refreshing swim in the river over the hot weekend.
We’ll definitely be returning ❤️

Disliked Absolutely nothing!

From the manager: Hi Layna,

Thank you so much for your lovely words! It was such a pleasure having you all at Riverbend — your boys were an absolute joy to spend time with. We had so much fun exploring the park together, picking apples and blackberries, finding hazelnuts, and getting creative with the potpourri!

I’m so glad they enjoyed the playground and river, and that your cocker spaniel had a great time too — the dog meadow and river swims are always a hit on sunny days!

It really means the world to us to hear you had such a great weekend. We’d love to welcome you all back again soon — we’ll have more adventures waiting! ❤️

Warmest wishes,

Liked Very nice and well maintained site. The facilities are very good and exceptionally clean. The couple who run the place take great care of the site and their attention to detail is spot on. You even get your own picnic table!
There's a nice little pub at the top of the lane within easy walking distance.

We're absolutely delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the cleanliness and care we put into maintaining the park. It's always our goal to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests, so it's lovely to know that the facilities and attention to detail stood out to you.

We're especially glad you liked the individual picnic tables – we believe little touches like that can really make a difference in helping guests feel at home. And yes, the local pub is a real gem! We're lucky to have it just a short stroll away, offering a cosy spot to relax after a day out.

Liked A very friendly welcome, the site is clean and tidy, the pitches are large and you have plenty of room. Very dog friendly, and have a great place for the dog to run and paddle in the river.

Disliked Showers could be a little warmer.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Dear Andrea,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review – we’re really glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us!

It’s lovely to know you felt warmly welcomed on arrival – we take great pride in creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for all our guests. We're also thrilled you appreciated the spacious pitches and how clean and tidy Riverbend is kept – our team works hard to maintain high standards, so that’s great to hear.

We’re especially pleased that your dog had a great time too! The river area is a favourite for many of our four-legged visitors, and it's lovely to hear they made the most of it in our lovely Dog (off lead) meadow a 5 minute walk from the park.

Regarding the showers, thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry to hear they weren’t quite warm enough for your preference. During your 9-day stay, there would have been plenty of opportunity for us to assist, and we would have been more than happy to turn them up if we’d known – it’s a quick fix, and we’re always here to help so for your next visit please don’t hesitate to speak to us during your stay if anything isn’t quite right – we want every part of your visit to be just right.

Thanks again for choosing to stay with us – we hope to see you (and your pup!) again soon.

Local attractions

One very fine way to visit Welshpool involves steaming in courtesy of the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, from Llanfair Caereinion (15 minutes’ drive). Once in town, you can continue the historical theme with wanders round the Powysland Museum and tours of Powis Castle, a medieval fortress housing the treasures Robert Clive brought back from India; both are half an hour by car. Treasures of different kind surround Gregynog Hall, also half an hour away: 750 acres of estate include Grade I-listed formal gardens and a nature reserve of ancient oak woodlands where you might see hares, wood warblers and horseshoe bats. Mazes, myths, mine descents and craft workshops are on the menu at King Arthur’s Labyrinth in Corris, 45 minutes away, along with transport nostalgia at the steam railway museum. If it’s a vintage seaside experience you’re seeking, beetle over to Barmouth (50 minutes) for wide sands, safe seas, donkey rides and candy floss, or for something stranger, make the hour and 10-minute trip to Portmeirion, a fantastical Italian fishing village with a scifi past. Depending on which way you point yourself, an hour’s car journey can take you hiking round Lake Bala and rafting upon it, or rambling the high ridges of the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve in the Shropshire Hills.
