Liked: Water in toilets was hot
Disliked: Very basic, didnt bother to give us a code for shower room, people shooting guns late in evening pellets landing very close, very uneven field which was boggy , rave in owners property so loud music if that's what it was! Sounding like shit to us.

From the manager: Dear Camper I would like address your dislikes here as you were not prepared to try and contact me at any point with your concerns during your stay. We always try to give our campers a good expierence here and this is clear in all the reviews we have. We were out when you arrived and I left a clear note as to were to pitchup. We did not give you the code as this is a family shower room and as a number of families were on site it was not nessacary to give you the code as there are showers in both the ladies and gents sides. If you had wanted it, you could have asked and I would have explained, and if you had really wanted it I would have given it to you. The local farmers were shooting guns, in the country many farmers do this as a part pest control. We do not own a gun and they were no where near you and in the fields away from the site, the farmers were asked to move on which they did, so pellets could not of landed near you. My son had his 25th birthday party on the Saturday, clearly marked at the entrance, sorry its not your taste in music.I kept walking up the campsite and spoke to those closest to our house and they said they could not hear it, it was fine, even asking for an invite and also left nice reviews. The party was in the back garden of our family home enclosed by 3 buildings not on the campsite. Its where we live and we had a small gathering of 10 people to celebrate this occasion. It had rained most of the previous week and so the ground was a bit soft in places but not boggy, and you were on a level pitch. 95% pitches are level. At no point did you try to contact me with your concerns, my number is on the toilet block and at the entrance and on the website and you could have called or text, but you did not and as you did not have the decency to come and see me personally, and just leave a bad review, I feel is quite unfair because If you had I would have addressed your concerns straight away. I would advise in future that if you are not happy with something that you should say something, if people dont know they can not correct issues, its not they are not bothered they just dont know.

Liked: Really good powerful hot showers . Plenty of hooks to hang things on which is so often missing in many campsites. Washing up facilities were great too with plenty of hot water. Good level pitches.
Disliked: Bridge over to the pond around the corner of the site was broken with a few plastic bottles littered around it. It didn’t look safe to walk across . If you have kids , you wouldn’t be able to let them roam free .

Liked: Small, low-key place with good facilities. Friendly welcome. Interesting old mill buildings and millpond.
Disliked: The grass on the pitches was rather too long, possibly because it was close to the end of the season (mid-September). The footbridges around the millpond need attention.
