  • Wild camping on an organic farm in the Brecon Beacons National Park
  • Two miles from a trail up Pen y Fan; Four Waterfalls 30 minutes' drive
  • Meadow pitches with walks on site; near pubs, shops and hiking routes
Ca’s Camping is in pole position for anyone keen to get out and about in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Situated on the edge of the park, with glorious mountain views right from your tent, this is wild camping in a peaceful, flat meadow on an organic farm with dairy cows, free-range hens and ponies. The dogs get to come on your Welsh adventure too (on leads please), and you can exercise them in the designated 2.5-acre meadow adjoining your camping field, which has a stream running through the middle for family paddles and splashing around. A 10-minute walk in woodland takes you to gorgeous waterfalls on a tributary of the Tarrell river. You can pick up supplies for the barbecue from the handy supermarkets in Brecon (10 minutes’ drive, check out the historic cathedral too), where there are also masses of pubs, fish and chip shops and takeaways for those nights when no-one wants to cook. Simple facilities back on site include two composting toilets and an electric shower, as well as a washing-up area and refuse recycling points. An added bonus is the standpipes providing drinking water straight from a spring in the Brecon Beacons.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Views and surroundings

Disliked: Extremely muddy entrance to the field (due to the heavy rain). Had to help few travellers pushing theirs cars to get out. We struggled with our motorbikes massively. Two tent toilets and one shower for everyone- that’s 27 tents. We get its wild camping, but charging £40 for two people with tiny tents is a bit steep for campsite.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Great views, with Pen y Fan as your background. And lots of space. Welcoming and ready to help with anything (including towing us out when being stuck in the mud). A nice relaxed style with a beautiful designated dog walking area.

Disliked: We arrived after alot rain fall and the ground was very soft and boggy however, someone was always on hand to help.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: Lovely, accommodating host. Beautiful area, lovely nearby waterfall and good local walking. Pub within walking distance. Large, predominantly flat field. Clean, compostable toilets (x2) but better facilities in the pipeline, apparently.

Disliked: Only one shower at the moment. Washing facilities are basic, i.e. one sink with only cold water. The field had suffered from a lot of rain before the season and we needed towing on and off but as the weather gets better, this shouldn't be an issue. For us it meant we couldn't easily drive anywhere, however Ca would have happily helped tow us on and off at any time
