  • Well-kept caravan park a mile from the village of Doune
  • A 10-minute drive from Stirling/the edge of Loch Lomond National Park
  • Well-behaved dogs welcome; heated toilet and shower block
Ashmill Caravan Park is an attractive spot set in the spectacular Stirlingshire countryside. With plenty of space, level, well-kept grass and well-marked pitches, this site is a mile from the village of Doune and its castle, surrounded by lots of great local amenities and pleasant walks along the river Teith. On-site facilities here include a clean and modern toilet block, which is fully accessible and benefits from heating to keep you toasty in the chillier months (handy indeed, as this camping and caravan park is open all year round). Well-behaved dogs (on leads, please) are welcome to come and join you. Another big plus of Ashmill Caravan Park is how close it is to Blair Drummond Safari Park, one of the best zoos in Scotland, which is easily accessible either on foot or by road. There's a wealth of other things to see and do nearby too, including Stirling Castle (10 minutes' drive) and the eastern edge of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park (also 10 minutes). Close proximity to the motorway network means that both Glasgow and Edinburgh can be reached within an hour.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: The facility was very well kept and easy to navigate. The family running the site were very friendly and gave us good advice about the local surroundings. The toilet/shower block was probably the best kept and cleanest block that we have come across on a caravan site.

Disliked: There was nothing there dislike.

Liked: The toilets and shower facilities are immaculate. The spaces are hard standing and in mint condition. The pots and pans shed is amazing, warm, clean and handy. There is a garage next door with many groceries etc. The castle is a good look out too.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Fantastic little site. The owner was lovely and the place was spotless. Toilet and shower facilities were really clean and it was great to have a proper shower and not one that you have to keep pushing the button to get it to stay on. Really handy location for walking to Deanston distillery and into the town of Doune. Also great for driving into Calendar etc. We got a great tv signal here also.
