Not for us
Primitive grass tent campsite (six person)
Liked Lovely welcome. The site itself is well maintained and a nice size. We were the only tent on the site so had the pick of the field. We pitched closer to the toilet/washing up area which were st the end of the field. The toilet block was well maintained. Only 2x washing up sinks not sure how that would work when it’s busy.
Disliked We were not fans of NO hot water to wash up or in the toilet block to wash hands. Didn’t even try the shower out of curiosity. For this reason we only stayed the one night instead of 3 we are soft campers and like access to hot water without booking our kettle. The site was rather noisy due to the road location. It’s quite a busy road and we prefer the sound of wildlife when camping. Also the tavern is lovely and accommodates dogs outside but when it’s wet I can’t believe there’s no dogs allowed inside. Yes there are umbrellas in the outdoor seating area but still not daft enough to sit outside in the rain.

Nice site with lots of facilities.
Primitive grass tent campsite (six person)
Liked Lots of space when first arrived at campsite and nice views of surrounding country side. Nice shop and the bar restaurant was great and friendly staff. Very nice area and all the accommodations look modern and well kept.
Disliked Showers didn’t really work that great. Playpark facilities closed but there is a new adventure playground due to open soon. Which looks amazing. People pitched very close to us when there was a lot more space in campsite.

Excellent site with clean facilities
Primitive grass tent campsite (six person)
Liked Clean facilities for campers, friendly staff, food was good on site, both takeaway and restaurant option available.
Disliked No indoor area for dogs, weather wasn't great and not all seating outdoors had covers etc. Weather (nothing to do with site!! but sadly had to escape to car due to storm and tent did not survive it)

Primitive grass tent campsite (six person)
Liked The area, the scenary, the facilities on site, everything about the site was wonderful for families
Disliked There is no on site camp security patrolling, which means our weekend was ruined by a group of people who decided it was socially acceptable, in a field full of familes, to stay awake all night talking loudly and playing music. When i emailed the camp to complain I heard nothing back and still am yet to hear anything back.
These sorts of groups should not be allowed on a family campsite, and a patrol should be in action to quieten down groups like these or even kick them off site.

What customers say
This well-kept site earns praise for friendly staff, clean facilities, and a beautiful setting. Guests love the roomy pitches, on-site restaurant, bar, and shop. While amenities and value are lauded, some note shower quirks, occasional noise, and a desire for improved restrooms during peak times. It's a recommended base for families exploring the Scottish Borders.
