  • Luxurious Perthshire glamping pod with gorgeous Ochil Hills views
  • Half an hour’s drive to Perth, Scone Palace and Falkland Palace
  • Welcome hamper, hot tub, pizza oven and deluxe kitchen
What is the aim of the owners at Pathgreen Glamping? To provide a high-end rural retreat for guests to rest up in comfort and style amid gorgeous Perthshire countryside. They’ve certainly achieved that, for this really is high-end glamping with many a luxury, from the bespoke design of the pod’s interior to the exclusive-use hot tub, a welcome hamper and spectacular Ochil Hills walks direct from the decking. Located in the Perthshire hamlet of Path of Condie, Pathgreen Glamping sits alongside the Water of May burn on a family-run smallholding. You may hear the cockerels welcoming the day, and horses, goats, Timmy the lamb and free-ranging hens are some of the livestock you may meet. The ultra-luxurious glamping pod sleeps six in total comfort, with all Egyptian cotton bed linen, robes and slippers provided. A compact shower room has soft towels and complimentary bath products, the deluxe kitchen boasts a wine fridge and coffee maker, and the generous separate living area has snuggly sofas scattered with cushions and cosy throws (novels and games provided for leisurely downtime). Keep your eye on the ever-changing views through the fully glazed façade and hire the pizza oven (it even comes with its own dough and toppings) to make supper outdoors. Then all you need to do is choose something chilled from the wine fridge and settle down to stargaze on clear nights…

Local attractions

The Ochil Hills, glens and woodland walks are accessed straight from the glamping pod, or you can cycle around Lomond Hills Regional Park (40 minutes’ drive). The site owners are on hand to help you organise all sorts of things like guided walks, bicycle hire and lunch bookings. If you’re holidaying with kids, top of the list may be Blair Drummond Safari Park (45 minutes) for its raptor flying displays and dinosaur trails, while any excess energy can be burnt off on the climbing frames at Active Kids Adventure Park (35 minutes). Perth is gateway to the Highlands and guided tours of imposing Scone Palace, home to Scottish monarchs; other historic landmarks in the area include Renaissance-era Falkland Palace and Garden (all half an hour), and Lochleven Castle (25 minutes) former prison of Mary, Queen of Scots, and accessed only by boat. Path of Condie may be tucked away in peaceful countryside, but you can easily visit Edinburgh (an hour’s drive) or Glasgow (an hour and 10 minutes) for a taste of big-city life. If you’d prefer to head for the coast, university town St Andrews (an hour) offers long walks on the West Sands, a haunted castle and ruined cathedral.
