  • Inverarnan site five minutes' drive from the north tip of Loch Lomond
  • Ben Vorlich 10 minutes' drive; easy access from the A82
  • Campers' kitchen, plus on-site restaurant and bar with live music
What brings you to the part of the Scottish Highlands just north of Loch Lomond? Perhaps wanting to wander by the lake, tick off a few mountain climbs or just sit in a quiet spot soaking up the spectacular scenery? Beinglas Farm Campsite is in a splendid Dunbartonshire location for all of the above, surrounded by mountain peaks and with the top corner of Loch Lomond about five minutes’ drive away. Intrepid walkers may like to note that this site is close to the West Highland Way, making it a handy spot for a good rest on a long-distance walk. Other guests might like to take in a bit of the trail while they’re here, too, or set out to conquer the likes of Ben Vorlich, Ben Vane and The Cobbler. Getting around to these and other local hotspots should be straightforward enough, as this Inverarnan location is just off the A82 for quick journeys around the area (or to/from further-flung destinations like Glasgow and Glencoe, both about an hour away). Plenty of key facilities are provided here, including toilet/shower blocks, a well-equipped campers’ kitchen and a small site shop stocked with various supplies and camping/walking essentials. For many guests, however, the highlight is the restaurant-bar, going by the fabulous name of The Stagger Inn. It’s a cosy place either to chill out or to socialise, and it’s got a fine range of meals and drinks too. Through the summer months there’s also live music to help you get into the Scottish spirit a bit more.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked: Great site with it's own pub and restaurant and there is also another great pub a short walk away. Facilities were clean and functional and staff were very friendly. The site was mainly full of walkers doing the west highland way but there is good flat hardstanding for vans

Disliked: The weather when we were there as the rain was biblical 😭

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Great site in a beautiful location, great to explore Loch Lomond or climb Ben Lomond. All the facilities you would need at a campsite, especially the camp kitchen. The pub on site is a wonderful place to spend time, we were here for both nights of live music - great atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and welcoming - had brilliant nights at The Stagger Inn, met some great people around the fire.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: After completing a difficult stage on the WHW on a rather damp dismal day, it was nice to be able to shower, shave and avail oneself of the various facilities.

Disliked: Of all places on the WHW, this was the worst one for midges. Nets helped, and i suppose there is little do be done, to alleviate this.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We really liked the campsite overall. It was in a good location and easy to access plus close to some great spots in the trossachs. Staff were all very friendly and helpful in the shop and the bar. The bar was a nice addition to a campsite with live music on the Friday evening which was really good. The kitchen area is very handy too. We will definitely be back here to stay.

Disliked: My only notes would be that the ladies toilets sanitary bins could use more regular emptying and the staff could do with patrolling the grounds in the early hours as some campers were very loud into silly hours but I really don’t hold that against the campsite in the slightest it can happen anywhere and I’m not a party pooper I just don’t want to be still awake at 3.30am listening to loud conversations.
