What customers say
This lovely castle estate campground has spacious, well-kept sites and friendly staff. Guests rave about clean facilities, great on-site pizza, and beautiful woodland walks, perfect for families and dog lovers. While most visits are excellent, some minor issues arose with electricity payment and occasional noise. The stunning setting and amenities make for a highly recommended stay.

Nice relaxing quiet break, pity the weather wasn't kinder
Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Hoddom Castle is in a beautiful setting, very close to the A75, yet miles from anywhere. Very peaceful and quiet when I visited, perfect escape from all the firework nonsense back home. Many water points scattered around the site, so not too far to walk for water.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Fantastic pitches, which are large. Grounds are outstanding with several trails and places of interest within a decent walk of the site. Site has a one way system in operation. The Coachhouse is the bar and restaurant on site and is good value for money, and has free wifi. Unfortunately, we struggled to get any better than 3g in our van. Staff all over the site were absolutely fantastic, taking time to make sure you received information you needed. The castle itself is quite impressive, even although most of it appears to be derelict. Plenty of toilet blocks, which are kept spotless. Also plenty of bins, waste water points and fresh water taps throughout the site. Electricity is on a pre paid card, with any credit left over is returnable, so you only pay for what you use. All in all, we were very impressed, and will return.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Large, well spaced out pitches. Lots of mature trees and green spaces. Beautiful walks direct from site. Toilets and showers kept very clean. Enjoyed a couple of nights in the bar in the old castle.
Disliked Distance to the chemical disposal from the touring pitches. Could do with an additional more central one. Ours doesn't have wheels and not keen on putting it in the car boot to drive down.
