  • Well-maintained park with superb views
  • Next to Powfoot Golf Course; four miles from Annan
  • Next to a beach nature reserve
Peaceful, quiet, relaxing and nature-filled breaks are the name of the game at Queensberry Bay Holiday Park, a fab holiday park on the shores of Scotland's Solway Firth. If pubs, clubs and loud entertainment are very much not your thing, you'll find all you need here at this top-end and popular park instead, including an excellent little campers' kitchen with first-class views across the bay. The park also has excellently maintained showers and toilets, and a small licensed shop selling essentials like chocolate and the (also very well-regarded) Queensberry bacon rolls. The Queensberry team is keen to point out that those looking for golden sands might be better off heading further west along the coast; the beach here, however, is a beaut nature reserve filled with grassy knolls and pools, and a breeding ground of the protected natterjack toad. It's just the spot for Spot and other dogs too as it's a perfect place for walking the pooch.

Dunlin powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: The pitches were a good size and spaced apart , so didn’t feel on top of one another which is a real bonus as so many are crammed in, and the restaurant was lovely,

Disliked: The toilet facilities were excellent, but weren’t cleaned everyday so paper towels ran out and your bins needed emptied , your alcohol beverages in your restaurant were extremely expensive, we had a large white wine and lemonade and a pint of lager , which was £18 so put us off going back again

Sandside powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked: The location. Stayed at beach side

Disliked: The campsite was excellent but.. planned to eat on a couple of occasions but both times our choice was not available. It was so remote that we had no other option. Toilet/shower facilities were excellent but very heavily used and not cleaned or supplemented after the morning cleanup. Bit of a problem using the at night with no toilet paper available. Biggest disappointment was the restaurant/clubhouse facilities.

Liked: The pitch was substantial so you are not too close to your neighbours, grassed area is perfect for dogs and you can walk from there straight on to the bay. Our pitch had a lovely view and we were treated to a great sunset.
Spacious, clean, hot showers. Super friendly staff. Big thumbs up all round.
