  • Secluded, spacious pitches on a family farm in Wiltshire countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to Salisbury and half an hour from Stonehenge
  • On-site store, butchers and café, weekend barbecues and pubs nearby
Farley Camping is based on a working farm near a quiet village on the Wiltshire and Hampshire border. Owned by the same family since the 14th century, today it is an arable and livestock farm, so you’ll be able to look out over the fields and see cows grazing peacefully. Down a farm track, this is a secluded spot that’s all about the natural world, plus all those little extras that make a holiday special. There are hot showers and loos dotted around the place, and on site there’s a little shop serving up proper coffee and freshly baked pastries every morning. As well as basics like milk and bread, you can also stock up on award-winning burgers produced from the farm’s grass-fed Aberdeen Angus cattle, plus free-range eggs, chicken and rare-breed handmade sausages, and there are communal barbecues over the weekend too. And by the way – there are also plenty of local pubs if you fancy a night off from cooking. This is a free-form campsite with 12 acres to play with, so just pick a spot you like the look of and get settled in. And should you ever want to leave, Salisbury, Stonehenge and the New Forest are all less than half an hour’s drive away. You can even be on the beach at Bournemouth in 50 minutes, for days of family fun messing about in the sea.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Lovely area very well maintained area and quiet the little shop is a nice touch!

Disliked: Composting toilets due to weather did smell but were regular cleaned I feel the cubicles would benefit from being slightly bigger. The showers on-site are adequate my only issue is the soak which did smell, but they were clean warm and functioned well. I feel this site would really benefit from a playground for entertaining children and upgraded shower/toilet blocks.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Great little site, stayed as a big group of friends. We were allowed to pitch together which is great and excellent fun to all be able to sit round the firepit (you have to hire one £10 for your stay). Great walks straight from the campsite and good local pub, only a little walk (about 20 mins) top tip, bring a torch as it’s lights out at 10. They also have food at weekends (very tasty burgers) facilities were clean and hot. Just wish the weather has better when we went, but they did have a big tent and seating which you are welcome to use. Recommend.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: I’ve just come back from Farley camping staying as a big group, just wanted to say it was a great stay. They have got a big circus type tent for everybody to use which came in useful for us, as it did rain a bit while we were there, but we were very well looked after as a big group and even provided catering. The showers were very clean but I think they were they were brand-new so they were really good. I would recommend anybody to stay, the field is massive and flat. It’s rural based on a farm but not very far from Salisbury. We also went to the local pub in the village which called the hook and glove, which was a good laugh.

Disliked: Nothing
