Liked: Beautiful peaceful setting. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Site very clean and well maintained. Shower block again well maintained. Ideal location with plenty to do and see in close proximity. Lovely little wooden cabin called Sam's bar, really good range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available and freshly made pizza. Fishing available on two lakes suitable for all levels of fishing. Overall a beautiful site.
Disliked: Maybe some of the trees could do with cutting back slightly for easier casting! But very difficult to find any dislike.

Liked: Generally very good some minor issues. All very clean and tidy.
Disliked: Minor issues. Camp shop didn't have any bait or small tackle items. The health club opposite could have done a temporary membership for campers but understand its membership only. And there was a dead fish in the lake.

Liked: The pitch was well maintained and the toilet blocks were clean. Most of the staff were very helpful and polite. Would certainly go again
Disliked: The fountains on both lakes were on all day. This does not go off until 19:00. This impaired the fishing experience. It was not until after the fountain was switched off that a larger fish was caught. I would not recommend fishing from swim 18. There were brambles to the right side that we twice lost the float and tackle to when the fish swam to this. The brambles are long and should be cut back to prevent others from receiving the lacerated hands that both my husband and a fellow fisherman got whilst trying to land one of the fish. The landing net also got caught in the brambles and were very difficult to disentangle

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to feedback, it will be lovely to welcome you back once again. We are a little confused by your comment as we do not book out swim 18 on the lake as it would cross with 1 so it doesn't feature on our fishing register, apologies for the confusion on this, we plan in routine maintenance of our lakes to ensure things are kept up together and we are sorry you felt they were not. The aerator is essential for the health of our fish and is on a timer to improve the water quality and therefore their environment. We've never been aware before that it inhibits catches, so hopefully this was a coincidence as we've always had them in place, they were recommended by our fishing consultant. We hope you can join us again and have a better experience on the lakes. Kind regards The Blacklands Team

Disliked: only niggle, the lake could do with some bramble and bushes cutting back and the aerator was on way too long.
