  • Wild camping on a rural Somerset farm with views of Brent Knoll hill
  • A 20-minute drive to Cheddar Gorge, and 10 minutes to the beach
  • Animals on site; a restaurant and café within walking distance
A handy half-way post en route to Devon and Cornwall, Knoll Farm Glamping and Pop Up Camping is a rural site in the peaceful Somerset village East Brent, just 10 minutes from Junction 22 of the M5. It’s adjacent to a working family farm, with spectacular views to Brent Knoll from the field, where you can wake up in the morning to the sounds of the birds chirping and wildlife rustling around – not to mention the adorable Aberdeen Angus calves grazing in neighbouring fields. If you are looking for some tasty treats, there is a local carvery restaurant (five minutes’ walk, with veggie options too), open Wednesday to Saturday lunch times and evenings, and all day Sunday. Booking is advised, and you can eat in or takeaway. A local café (10 minutes) serves all-day breakfast and snacky lunches too. If you’re making your main holiday base here, big-hitting family attractions include Burnham-on-Sea beach (10 minutes), Cheddar Gorge (20 minutes) for hiking and climbing adventures, and Wookey Hole Caves (35 minutes) with loads of kids’ activities. Facilities on this small, non-electric site include running drinking water, unisex toilets and an area for dish washing. Best bring a torch as the field is unlit, and when leaving, please sort your rubbish into tied, sealed black bin bags and leave them in the recycling bins provided.
