Liked: Fires and books :-))))) Nice chilled out site, you can pitch wherever and fires are allowed - there are a number of fire pits which can be moved or it's fine to use your own (which is lovely, as some places ask that you use theirs and pay extra). Ditto for wood, they sell it from the site office. Pub is indeed a short walk, very friendly and good food. Favourite thing was the little book swap hut, when I was there it was enthusiastically staffed by a crew of very poilte children. (Well, they were polite to guests - probably less so to their actual parents!) I was lazy and stayed in the first field but I think there are 3 to choose from so plenty of space. Toilets are fine and was never a queue.
Disliked: Not a dislike but just a note, there genuinely are no shops nearby - the litle village doesn't have any so make sure you haven't forgotten anything. The light in one of the toilets kept going out, I'm not sure if it was on a movement sensor or because of the solar, but not a problem as the info does say to bring a torch.

Liked: Lovely little site close to a lovely village called Priddy with a lovely little pub with nice food and garden. Lovely walks around the area and close to cheddar gorge and mendip hills. This is our second visit to this lovely little site. The owners are always lovely to talk to when you check into the site. There was a lovely little pizza van onsite Saturday - we had already eaten but will Check for this if we come again. Sunrise and sunsets at this campsite are beautiful
Disliked: Nothing to dislike - this is basic lovely camping and just all that is needed for a night away for me

Liked: Friendly enough welcome, though he accidentally overcharged me, he very quickly corrected that when I pointed it out. I was a day later than originally planned and they did reduce my fee, which impressed me. I usually aim for trees, but this was two fields, with regularly placed toilets and water posts
Disliked: I arrived mid-afternoon, there were tents and campervans mostly around the edges of the field, I chose what looked like a quiet spot and because it was quite a sloped hill, close to the hedge where it looked flatter. I set up and had two or three hours of relative peace, then a group of four young lads arrived and set up near me at the same time an older couple also set up not far away. Both parties then put their own choice of music on, not quietly, and broke the peace. I have to be honest by 8.30pm I decided that I wasn’t feeling close to nature, but disappointed to be in a noisy field, so I packed up and left. The site itself wasn’t at fault, but I camp for peace and quiet and to experience nature, not to share my quiet with others

Disliked: The compost toilets. But that's what this camp site is all about, echo friendly. It's just a personal thing.
