Primitive grass tent campsite (large)
Liked: A friendly welcome, modern clean toilet / shower block, plenty of signage on site and a good central location for site seeing and for going into Cheddar. We also had a flat level pitch and you can pick your own spot in the field. There is a communal washing up area, microwave and fridge freezer for campers to use.
Disliked: Although they try to enforce quiet hours on site, it is unfortunately a very noisy site surrounded by a busy footpath with children using it as the main route to school and shouting at the tent campers, it is also next to several sports pitches where they were playing late into the evening with floodlights covering the tent field. There is a nuisance cat that the site owners are aware of and it likes to climb on and rip tents! I think if you were in a motor home then that hard standing section of the site is okay, but the tent field which is used as a non-electric overflow for campervans, seems to be a bit forgotten about with no water tap and the shower block is the other end of the site.

Liked: A very pretty site that is very well maintained close to local shops and bars, very friendly and helpful staff on site, the toilet/shower block very nice and clean
Disliked: The heating needed to be turned on in the toilet/shower block to dry floors rather than windows left open as the temperature while we were there was quite chilly especially in the mornings

Primitive grass campervan campsite (small)
Liked: Friendly welcome. Lovely clean facilities. Everything is well maintained. Easy walk into Cheddar along the foot path. We parked our van in the camping field which was quiet and peaceful. Nice bakery/coffee shop in the village. We got the bus into Wells, but they are infrequent, and none on a Sunday.
Disliked: Nothing
