Purbeck bell tent (comfort, four person)

Liked: Very nice and natural like proper camping! However we 'glamped' in a bell tent with proper beds and mattresses, the beds were really comfortable actually. The hosts were very nice, friendly and made us feel welcome. There isn't an abundance of facilities, that isn't what this place is about - but the facilities (compost toilets, showers, and barn kitchen) were very clean. I wouldn't reccomend this area without a car, but it's a decent location for driving to near by beaches and sites.

Jurassic bell tent (basic, five person)

Liked: We loved the kitchen and fridge area. Showers were clean and warm water. Dry toilets really clean and great clear instructions displayed. The campsite is really secluded and secure. Our kids run around and played with other little glampers all day. Our tent was large and clean. We hired a bbq on the spot which was handy. Not far drive to the Bournemouth beach. We d love to come back.

Disliked: I would not fault anything.

Jurassic bell tent (basic, five person)

Liked: Beautiful scenery, fields, wildflowers and space for kids to roam. Composting toilets were cleanest I’ve ever used and so many little touches, like a small play area for kids, a small microwave and separate oven were perfect for easy cooking on rainy nights. Close to so many wonderful local places to visit and explore! Favourites were definitely Durdle door and Corfe Castle.

Disliked: NA

Purbeck bell tent (comfort, four person)

Liked: The layout of the tents worked very well, good facilities and friendly staff. I did miss a communal toaster for morning toast like on other glamping sites, but great to have a microwave. Beds were comfortable too smashing all round. Lovely stay

Disliked: 3 toilets on site was plenty, other glamping sites have a single small compost toilet by each bell tent, which was far better.

Jurassic bell tent (basic, five person)

Liked: Clean facilities and a good range - sheltered shared area with kettle, microwave, fridge/freezer and plug sockets alongside washing up area with warm water makes a stay a lot easier. Shower and loos basic but clean and water always warm! Tipis beautifully laid out in the field.

Disliked: We stayed the bank holiday weekend, it is sandwiched between what I believe to be a wedding venue and a pub so their was loud live music until 11 at both venues both nights. Not a bad thing but it would have been nice to be prepared for this by being informed in the advance emails. Also despite it saying 10pm noise down, this was not enforced with one tent in the tent field playing loud music till 3am first night.

Purbeck bell tent (comfort, four person)

Liked: Lovely stay, tents were nice and beds comfy. I liked how private it was and campsite was a nice size so didn’t feel too busy. Toilets and showers were fine. It has everything there we needed. Overall a very nice stay.

Local attractions

Dorset’s brilliant combo of coast and countryside means you won’t be short on outdoorsy activities. Footpaths and cycle routes crisscross the county, just pick the sights you want to ogle at and get plotting. Corfe Castle (20 minutes’ drive), Old Harry Rocks (30 minutes), Lulworth Cove (30 minutes) and Durdle Door (35 minutes) are some of the top spots to aim for. To get out on the water, check out canoe and boat hire options in Poole (10 minutes) and Wareham (15 minutes). Lessons, tours and trips for sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding can be arranged all along the coast as well as coasteering and rock climbing to make the most of the area’s imposing cliffs. Searches show up plenty of options in Swanage, Lulworth and Studland Bay. To keep the kids happy (and anyone else who fancies a slightly less energetic day out), animal entertainments are on hand at Monkey World (20 minutes’ drive) or Sea Life Centre Weymouth (40 minutes).
