Disliked: Luke warm showers with all windows wide open. Making it very cold on a chilly September day.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked: There was a family bathroom that had a bathtub and a changing table, it was really spacious which was useful with a baby. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The pool was closed by the time we went but it looked like it would be amazing when open. There is a dog wash with a warm shower which was really useful for cleaning our dogs off before coming back into the tent. The site was clean and tidy in general.

Disliked: The dog exercise paddock was quite small, though it was big enough to play fetch with our smallish dogs. The shower blocks were a bit tired, they seem to be due an upgrade. The electricity for the tent pitches is shared between multiple pitches and if you don't have a very long cable it could be an issue, we had to ask to move closer to the electricity point, they were able to accommodate this.

Liked: Clean & tidy site, our hard standing pitch was flat & had a gravel area to the side. Toilets & showers were clean. Site was only 1.5m walk into Wimborne and there was a pavement. Free WiFi worked well

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Nice and well maintained caravan park. Short few minutes drive from a very cute town of Wimborne. Nice hot showers at no extra charge.

Disliked: Luckily it was not fully booked, otherwise, if all pitched taken, you would feel jammed. No walking path from the site.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked: Very easy campsite. You get sent an entry code and pitch number and then left to your holiday. You have to leave the car once unpacked at the car park but that was not a bother at all. The kids loved the pool, very clean environment, it's nice to have a convenient shop on site too. Close enough to some great locations for days out with the kids. We did not have any issues. Would definitely come here again.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked: Kids loved the pool, park and all of the entire site honestly! We've already booked to go back. The little shop is reasonably priced which is nice because some places are ridiculously overpriced as it's the only nearby easy shop. Site was well kept. We actually had a very relaxed holiday so didn't site see or travel about at all and the children kept themselves entertained on site for 5 days easily. For the price we paid I feel it was very good.

Disliked: Annoyingly the heating for the pool was broken so I couldn't go in because it was too cold for me, there were others ok with it honestly but I specifically booked this place as it had a heated pool and my kids like to swim with me but I can't stand the cold! Showers have push button and are set to a timer but it's very short lived and a little awkward to have to turn the shower back on every 20 seconds. Bathroom area could be updated.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked: Location was good Camping field good9

Disliked: Too many rules for normal people to enjoy. No gazebos eg we took ours down but at least 6 others ignored this. No fires but after dark many firens were lit. Cant leave car by the tent it has to be in the car park 100m away even in a gale and pouring rain. Shop poor and expensive.

Local attractions

Hold on to your hats, folks: the staff on site have many suggestions for a day out round these parts. Beach days, for starters – on the sandy stretch in Bournemouth perhaps, or rubbing shoulders with the swanky folks at Sandbanks, both of which are half an hour away by car. Charmouth, an hour away, is the place for dino-loving kids to ferret out a fossil or two. Potter down to Poole Quay (half an hour away) for boat trips to Brownsea Island, or drive down to Durdle Door (45 minutes) to swim or kayak through the huge limestone arch. Away from the coast, the New Forest National Park is half an hour away for fresh-air frolics including walks, horse rides and canoe trips. And keep the kids on best behaviour with the promise of a trip to Peppa Pig World, Monkey World, Adventure Wonderland or Go Ape, all of which are within a half-hour drive.
