Powered grass campsite

Liked: We had an excellent weekend stay. All the staff in guest services, the shop and the on-site restaurant were brilliant. We were impressed by multiple vegan food options, including on the children's menu, and the shop was well stocked. Great location for walks along the south west coast path and a bus trip to Weymouth. Free wi-fi was much appreciated (and good)!

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: The facilities were excellent, shower blocks and toilets were spacious and very clean. The shop was well stocked. Excellent location. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: One electric hook up served four pitches, meaning you need an extra long cable if on the pitch furthest away.

Liked: Showers very clean childrens park great pub nice and clean and decent choice of food. Staff friendly. Large pitch. First time camping and over all very happy with our stay. Would come again.

Disliked: I think the pitches should be more clearly marked as numbers on the ground covered with grass.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
