Meadows powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Entertainment Activities looked good for children

Disliked: Bitterly disappointed with the shower /toilet facilities which are desperately in need of a clean & update , Cracked tiles on the floor covered with black tape .The Showers were push button to operate for just a few seconds at a time there was just a trickle of water no proper stream of water to be able to have a comfortable shower. Many of the toilets did not flush ,I would not like to stay there again unless this situation has been improved

Paddock powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Very good value for money. Perfect for children.

Disliked: Showers! Good quality & fairly clean but they are button which isn’t a great start, they only stay on for 3-5 seconds but the shower head is 1-1.5m away from the button which makes nearly impossible to actually shower!

Paddock powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Plenty to do Location for going to Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth

Disliked: Pitch we were given was very tight for our unit given it was under a tree and not really room for an awning 1 set of toilets/showers closed as they said it was quiet, I can tell you it wasn’t. The toilets and showers that were open only 50% of them working. Showers were filthy and some locked and some didn’t work. Lots of flooding in the rain in the areas you had to walk on to get to the club house etc.

Meadows powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: First impressions was good, receptionist was pleasant and helpful. Our pitch was right next to toilet/shower facilities which is ideal with a 6yr old. Walking distance to main complex where we ate in the restaurant and had a few drinks outside whilst our boy played. Food wasn't too bad but a bit overly priced to the portion sized. We loved the outdoor pool, wasn't overly cold and wasn't busy which was a bonus. The overall park looked clean.

Disliked: The downside was the toilets/showers in the pitching part wasn't overly clean and showers barely usable with poor pressure but thought "we are camping so expect some roughing it". It seemed to be staffed with only those 21 and under so didn't see much professionalism, especially in the activities booking areas as they just either sat around talking, kicking balls about and generally looked non interested in helping their guests. We had some issues with older children on E-bikes/scooters riding fast on the paths , nearly knocking my boy over. Plus had older boys in the playground pushing and shoving my boy. But this was down to parenting and not the park. We had no phone signal and the wifi struggled also .

Paddock powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Pools were great and the lifeguards were really helpful. Food in the bar was great and very reasonably priced. Lots of activities to choose from.

Disliked: Toilets not very clean and regularly out of toilet paper. Showers were not always hot and turned off very quickly. There were also a number that had broken parts. The lack of hot water was also an issue for washing up. Very difficult to book activities.

Local attractions

It’s a short hop in the car to begin discovering the area’s spectacular surrounds, from the wilds of the New Forest to the ancient cliffs, limestone arches and nature reserves of the Jurassic Coast (tick off another World Heritage Site on your 'must-see' list). Dorset is jammed with attractions to suit all interests. History buffs might fancy clambering around Northe Fort or scaling the ramparts at Corfe and Portland castles. The Adventure Wonderland family theme park has thrills for kids of all ages, plus a massive hedge maze to get lost in, and action men (and women) can go paintballing or drive a tank at the Bovington Tank Museum. There’s loads of fun for fauna fans, too: check out the chimps at Monkey World, swan about at Abbotsbury Swannery, visit Weymouth Sea Life Park, explore the largest saltwater lagoon in the country on the glass-bottomed Fleet Observer, or meet some farmyard friends at Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park. Drive a bit further and you can also make a day trip to Longleat Safari Park.
