Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: The site was incredibly peaceful in a lovely countryside setting. Claire, the host, is incredibly welcoming and relaxed and provided everything we needed. The facilities are basic but clean and sufficient for our short stay and the lounge/rest room was a great idea and provides comfort away from the tent if you want it. We came for the animals and they didn’t disappoint. My kids loved the goats and alpacas and the wellness experience we booked with them was great fun and educational too. The lovely town of West Bay is just over ten mins drive away, great for adults and kids. We will definitely be back as I have a feeling this site will only get better over the years.

Primitive grass and earth campervan campsite
Liked: Great rural location but also close to attractions. There is a cool atmosphere and a little break room to chill in.
Disliked: Very small site so everyone is on top of each other with little room for manoeuvre. Bathrooms are portaloos with a washing up area combined as a hand wash. Was a busy site so got a bit smelly. Only one shower though good!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your review. We are always extra busy on the bank holidays and school holidays, which we do warn our customers in advance on when booking via email, as well as parking. Which everyone joins in and helps with. We also had baad weather and had to to more some people to ensure dryer areas and safety for camping, sadly we cannot control the weather. We are an eco off grid community wellness site and can only apologise if you found things untidy. We normally have 9/10 10/10 reviews for cleanliness, we also wash down daily and have a notice in the toilets to contact us on site if you are not happy. Portaloos are also cleaned thoroughly, and we will have extras in during the school holidays, as well as we provide air fresheners and regular topping up of the facilities. Again we understand eco and off grid is not for everyone, but these are all listed on our website, socials and online travel sites for booking and shared via our email booking confirmation. We also encourage our customers to also try and clean up after themselves. Sorry to not see you again in the future, we realise our site is not for everyone, but we are having many a happy return camper, so we wish you the best in the future at other sites. I cannot speak for other sites, but if we had been made aware when you were on site, we could have helped accommodate.
Excellent small site with adults. Perfect for a fun getaway.

Liked: Family friendly vibe. Small and cosy plot. Friendly welcoming host. Sitting room lodge with power to recharge devices and shelter from the rain. Very clean facilities - cleaned regularly. Equipment and games for visitors to use. Lovely located with a pub walking distance away and the beach 10minutes drive. Cute and entertaining animals.
Disliked: One shower and two toilets which the host plans to expand eventually.

Liked: Fun, friendly staff - thank you for making the stay pleasurable The layout of the campsite was great - space but able to talk to people Near bus stop Nice to ride bikes to nearby places - lake and pub Quite but able to have some music on low and having a fire makes the best campsite! Campervan was nice and level for a great sleep. Loved the wheels so you could carry your stuff over from the car to your tent
Disliked: Having a big van was hard to get out of the field when people parked in the way, but only had to find them and ask them to move - no problem really.

From the manager: Thank you so much for the kind review, we realise our campervan pitches are small and we try and only accommodate smaller vans, so we will review this in the future and adjust the sizing. We are so happy you really glad you enjoyed your stay! x
