  • Secluded site for exclusive use on a smallholding with Exmoor views
  • Well located for North Devon surfing beaches, Dartmoor and Exmoor
  • 14-ft yurt with solar shower, cooking facilities and extra tent
Fancy exclusive use of a secluded site with a 14-foot yurt and a vintage scout tent, sleeping a total of eight people? With four accommodated in each spot, Longview Camping is a small and peaceful site for families or friends, surrounded on three sides by Devon hedge banks (that means plenty of privacy and views over the hedges to Exmoor and surrounding fields and woodland). It is an enclosed and secluded spot, with its own access on a smallholding and no near neighbours except the owners. The yurt comes with bedding, but guests staying in the scout tent will need to bring their own. Thoughtful amenities include a composting toilet, solar shower and a field kitchen with a gas hob and cold water sink. A firepit comes as part of the deal too for cosy nights of catching up around the campfire. Access is off a rural lane, through a narrow gateway with space for two vehicles. A handy location within reach of North Devon’s magnificent beaches (Saunton Sands is a 40-minute drive) makes this a great choice for surfers, while walkers can head for wilderness walks on Dartmoor or Exmoor, and traffic-free cycling is available on the Tarka Trail (five minutes). The local town of Torrington (five minutes) has indie food shops and takeaways, local crafts and a pannier market on Fridays and Saturdays. During the day you can eat at an excellent farm cafe (10 minutes’ walk), and good pub food is available in several nearby villages (Beaford, 15 minutes' drive; Weare Gifford, 15 minutes; Kings Nympton, 25 minutes and Chittlehampton, 20 minutes). Please note that if you are arriving by train, it may be possible to arrange collection at the nearest station (Umberleigh).
