  • Family-oriented park between Dartmoor and the south Devon coast
  • A 15-minute drive from Totnes and half an hour from Plymouth
  • Indoor off-road track available to all cyclist guests
Wheeldon Farm is a holiday park in the stunning south Devon countryside geared towards families looking for action-packed motorhome or campervan breaks. Active holidays are easy to come by here: you're roughly equidistant between Dartmoor National Park and the the splendid south Devon coast. With miles of green lanes to explore starting from your pitch, this is a particularly fine spot for mountain bike and e-bike riders – and you're covered whatever the weather as kids (and big kids too) can spend hours zooming around the farm's all-weather indoor tracks. There's also a small playground and football pitch where younger guests can let off some steam. On top of that, bikes are available to hire on site for adventures through the local countryside. All guests are welcome to use the modern toilets, hot showers and lounge area. Here, you'll find a washing machine, a large washing-up sink and a coffee machine. Guests are welcome to bring barbecues and firepits. Well-behaved pets can expect a warm welcome here, with daily walks (or swims) provided by the river Avon. This peaceful spot is just at the end of the green lane that crosses the site, while further afield in the South Hams there's a range of dog-friendly beaches and trails to explore. The nearest shop can be reached within 10 minutes' drive.

Liked: Lovely little quiet site, has all amenities needed and a great base in the middle of the countryside for a few days as we used it or as an overnighter. It’s not your normal grass pitch, and on concrete BUT has EHU and water, also a good nightly price for that service and if you’re lucky to get the pitch on the end nearest the bank, amazing views and can pitch up an awning too. You need rock pegs though and where you are high up on the farm it can be a tad windy at times. We took 3 boys 2x7yrs and 1x11yrs. They loved riding around the dirt track on their bikes which is free to use when the elec bikes aren’t there. Friendly staff also that made us feel very welcome and great knowledge of the places to visit. Bigbury on Sea was lovely. Showers were also good and a great temperature.

Liked: Really friendly and helpful owner. He was so kind phoning and offering us advice on the best route to take to access the site. He went above and beyond to help us.

Disliked: We had to leave early due to family circumstances. For us the site was too remote for us but for others this maybe a massive plus. Lovely walk down to the river.
