Primitive grass campsite

Liked: •Bike hire - helpful staff & fairly priced. •Shop - all sorts of useful items. •Farm shop - lovely rum, breakfasts looked great. •Showers/toilets in great condition - lovely warm showers. •Fantastic view!

Disliked: •Noise - clearly states online and when you arrive that this is a no music site and quite hours from 11pm. Both nights we had noisy neighbours playing guitar after 11pm and loud music from a speaker. No staff seem to be policing this however it was sorted after we called the reception. •Prices - £20 to hire a fire pit or picnic table for the stay seems a bit steep.

From the manager: Thank you glad you enjoyed your stay with us and liked all the facilities We pride ourselves on our quiet site policy and i am sorry you were disturbed by thoughtless people but as you say as soon as it was mentioned it was sorted out immediately! We try to make a relaxed atmosphere and dont want to feel like we are the police at night nice to see it hasnt put you off hopefully next time you come there will be like minded camped near you :-)

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Fabulous site returned as we have had some amazing stays here and it’s a fantastic site in a fabulous location.

Disliked: We were woken at 8am with an inconsiderate camper blasting their music out waking us and our friends who we had recommended the site too as it’s a quiet site with no music. Sorry to say I had to complain as we paid in excess of £45 per night.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: thank you for your review feel very sad you marked us a 6 for something we were not in control of we have signs everywhere and advertise a no music policy im not sure how we could have stopped this as you say some people are very inconsiderate ? and we would always ask /tell anyone playing music to turn it off immediately So glad you think our site is fabulous and hope to see you again soon :-) just a little saddened by the 6 :-(

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Location was great 10 minutes drive from Woolacombe and great for other day trips in North Devon. Farm shop had everything you could need and also did fantastic breakfasts, hot drinks also hot food in evening..pizzas most nights but also saw a curry and roast pork. Facilites were always clean, showers were nice and hot and never had to queue. Pitches are very spacious and the site never felt too full even over bank holiday and half term. Some non electric pitches have great sea views and the sunset was beautiful. Zip wire for kids and bike hire looked great.

Disliked: Less choice of pitches if you need electric hook up and some are close to the car park and shop etc. Means you don’t have far to walk and wasn’t particularly noisy so not a major issue.

Local attractions

Seven miles of golden sand beaches, surfing, diving, kayaking and shore and boat fishing are all within a few minutes' drive of the farm; on land, mountain biking, hiking, golf, horse riding and quad biking are all available locally. Within a 10-minute drive are Croyde, Putsborough, Saunton Sands and Braunton Burrows, the biggest sand dune system in the UK and part of North Devon's Biosphere Reserve, Britain's first. The dunes are also a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a national nature reserve and a Special Area of Conservation for their 400+ species of plant: take a picnic of Lee Meadow Farm produce and see how many you can spot. The small fishing villages of Clovelly, Lynton and Lynmouth are also nearby, as are the dozens of old villages, scenic coastal walks, moorland and rivers of Exmoor National Park, worth at least a couple of days for its 620 or so miles of footpaths and bridleways, its cycle paths, its climbing, sea fishing, canoeing and kayaking.
