Liked: The view, the facilities.

Disliked: It would have been nice if the washing up area was covered as that area got very muddy and slippery.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Beautiful views. Clean, basic facilities. Very friendly and helpful team. Perfect for a basic camp site.

Disliked: Site is in an active farm so there are the expected noises etc. The site is exposed if there is high winds/rain. Facilities are clean but basic, no sockets.

Liked: What a stunning little spot. A lovely jaunt into Woolacombe and back along a lovely path and identified for you in the toilet block. The site was clean, friendly and had everything you could need. I slept very well and enjoyed the hello from the owners when they did their rounds. Would recommend for a simple and peaceful camp. ⛺️

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Back to basics camping with the bonus of a well kept hot shower and nice clean loos. A lovely view, and curious cows in the next field. Friendly and no-fuss. Campfires permitted, and breeze blocks supplied to protest the grass.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Barn Farm Campsite was very quaint - a field with a lovely view. The pitches were well spaced out and pretty level. The hosts were most welcoming. Toilet facilities and shower were more than adequate. Constant hot water for shower! Good location, close to Woolacombe.

Local attractions

The award-winning Woolacombe beach with its three miles’ worth of golden sands and lifeguards on duty is the main local attraction when staying at this park but it’s not the only scenic shoreline within easy access... As you face the sea, Barricane beach is to the right of Woolacombe – wander over here to see the seashells washed up on the shoreline from the Caribbean. A hut sells ice creams, tea, coffee, cakes and light lunches to munch on and Sri Lankan curries are served here some evenings. Keep walking on for quieter Combesgate and Grunta beaches (an hour on foot from the site altogether) or get in the car and drive to Croyde for surfing and Rockham Bay for seal spotting, both around 10 minutes away. Kids had enough of the beach but want to check out some animals? The Ilfracombe Aquarium and Exmoor Zoo are less than 20 minutes and a half an hour drive respectively. If you’re visiting midweek, falconry and sheepdog displays are organised at a farm five minutes away from the site.
