Liked: Used it as a stop over site on way to cornwall, fairly close to m5/a30, staff told us about fantastic farm shop up the road (greendale farm shop brilliant food in restaurant, animal farm is free too.

Disliked: Narrow lane if you access wrong way into site, WiFi was very weak,

From the manager: We encourage guests to use directions on our website as sat nav can direct you via inappropriate routes. Wi Fi is currently undergoing some updating however it is a basic service for which we make no additional charge. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

Liked: Lovely hedged corner pitch. Fully serviced and ideal with the dog. Very well kept site. Good clean facilities, laundry room showers were a good size. Ideal for Exeter, Westpoint Arena and the coast. Good walk to the farm shop.

Disliked: Othing about the site to dislike. Don't follow a sat nav.

Liked: The facilities were good. I liked the electric shower rather than having to push a button every 20 seconds. Electric and water on every pitch. Pitches were a good size.

Disliked: The site definitely needs more toilets. The bins were always full with lots of flies around them. Smell from the farm was a little off putting.

From the manager: Thank you for your review . We have 5 toilets which should be sufficient for a site of our size, but thank you for you thoughts. The bins are collected regularly and providing guests do not use them for large items which should be taken home or to a recycling centre there should be adequate space. Flies indeed can be a nuisance during spells of hot weather. As we are described as a working farm the aroma should not be unexpected..

Liked: Well organised site with generous pitches. Shower block, laundry and toilets are clean and well maintained. Access to bus outside gate to Exmouth and Exeter is a big bonus. Site managers are very attentive to everyone's requirements and offer a warm welcome. Excellent location.

Disliked: Tv reception is poor due to location but accessed the wifi and had 4G

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite (premium)

Liked: Nice quiet site in working farm. Well spaced pitches. Toilets could do with updating and lighting was poor but I guess they are trying to be more energy efficient

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Our shower units are less than one year old and panels were replaced this year. To achieve a more modern look which perhaps would be more aesthetically pleasing would require considerable expense and in turn an increase in pitch fee the result adding no benefit to the function offered. So not something we will be undertaking at this time. Above mirror lights can be switched on if additional assistance is required.

Local attractions

Time to stretch your legs? The closest spot is Woodbury Common, a mile away and a handy spot for dog walking, but there’s much to explore as the site sits on the edge of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. And of course there’s always the South West Coast Path – the seven-mile stretch from Budleigh Salterton to Sidmouth is a particularly rewarding one. Speaking of the coast, Budleigh Salterton (15 minutes’ drive) is a lovely place for a day out on the sandy beach, but you could also explore the offerings of Exmouth (15 minutes) or Dawlish (half an hour). Keeping it countryside instead, there’s fishing at Hogsbrook Lakes (five minutes), golf at Woodbury Park (five minutes) and the chance to coo over cute animals at either World of Country Life (15 minutes) or The Donkey Sanctuary (20 minutes). To keep the kids entertained for a full day, try the rides, shows, play areas and animal attractions at Crealy Theme Park (five minutes).
