  • Quiet working farm park 20 minutes' drive from moors and beaches
  • Walking, cycling and birdwatching at Stover Country Park
  • Outdoor heated pool and two fishing lakes
Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park is a quiet family-friendly park set on a working farm around 10 minutes' drive from the historic market town of Newton Abbot. It's within walking distance of the Templer Way heritage trail and a huge country park, as well as a flat and family-friendly cycling trail through woodlands and around lakes to Dartmoor National Park. The outdoor pool is always warm as it's heated by the site's biomass heating system, and there's a fishing lake within walking distance of all pitches. The site also has a small play area to keep the kids entertained. The dishwashing and laundry facilities are housed within the award-winning heated toilet and shower block. Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park is easily accessible from the main roads that run either side of Newton Abbot, making the park well placed for shopping trips and evenings out to Torbay, Exeter and Plymouth.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked: Nicely kept site, wonderful that the outdoor swimming pool was still open and it was so warm. Friendly staff. Facilities are really good, toilet, showers, washing up area, are all great, had music playing in them all the time, makes such a difference to the feel of everything. Lovely walks through Stover country park, with a coffee and cakes van which was a nice surprise. Also walkable to Newton Abbot.

Disliked: The only thing was that the Pizza place was not open at all when we were there.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Lovely quiet location, with shop and little heated outdoor pool. Top class Toilets and showers Very convenient for Shaldon & Teignmouth. Small well stocked fishing lake close by.

Disliked: Nothing really. A small games room ( Table tennis/billiards ) would be a good addition for wet days.

FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (premium)

Liked: We liked everything about this place. The showers were exceptional, nice pressure, temperature control and stayed on for long enough, which is why they keep winning the platinum toilet of the year! There’s even music in there. The site is nicely laid out with nicely kept paths and the vehicle recognition allows you to come and go easily but feel safe. Andrew was very helpful during our stay. The icing on top was the Farm Kitchen. The food is the best we’ve ever had - so good, after a day out on our wedding anniversary we returned to eat there again! Danni and Markus are wonderful, friendly and informative and we ate far too well and went on trips we otherwise wouldn’t have found. Definitely hope to return.

Disliked: Only negatives is no TV signal and had to pay for WiFi, but these are minor.

Liked: Fantastic and welcoming family run business with excellent facilities. Very well maintained outdoor pool, well stocked shop with local produce, very well maintained pitches, perfect for families with local walking routes. Also great for dog owners to access local routes. Even a well stocked pool and some great fish. Onsite kitchen for those extra treats if you don’t fancy cooking! Definitely would return!

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked: What a lovely site. Very friendly from the time we got there until we left. The pitch was very private. We went with friends do requested to be next to each other which we where. The facilities are spotless. The showers are hot at all times. Wifi, you get an hour free then you would have to pay. We didn't use it. The pool was warm but not for me if you where in there for an hour lol. The park was lovely. Fresh eggs every day from there chickens. The shop was well equipped with all the essentials. We will definitely return next year.

Local attractions

The site's fishing lake is well stocked with carp – just ask for Jim and he'll tell you all their names... Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park also lies halfway along the Templer Way Heritage Trail, a walking route that uses a mixture of rights of way, permissive routes and minor roads to link the seaside town of Teignmouth to Haytor on Dartmoor. The Stover Canal, which was once used to transport granite from the moors to the harbour, is also a short stroll from the park. The woodland, grassland, heathland, marsh and lake areas of the 114-acre Stover Country Park, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is half an hour's walk away. The park has a visitor centre, an aerial walkway, a bird hide and picnic areas. Also running through the country park is the Stover Trail – a traffic-free cycling route that connects Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey, extending towards Lustleigh and Moretonhampstead in Dartmoor National Park.
