Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked: Great communication right from booking including directions and my pitch number. Lovely site with great facilities and reasonably priced. I had the smallest pitch and could of put my awning up next to my van if the weather required it but luckily the sun was out. The shower and toilet block are new and really well thought out. Probably the best ive ever seen at a campsite! I didn't use the shop & bar but nice to know it was there. Location is great and a nice walk down to Exmouth Beach.

Disliked: Nothing

Powered grass campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked: The lay out of the pitches is fantastic, all marked out with rope and hedges allowing you plenty of space and privacy. The shower and toilet block is spotless and very modern. Great amenities for washing up and freezer space. Reception, small shop and bar very nice, with tables and chairs outside. Can't fault the place in the slightest - highly recommend it. We will definitely add this to our favourites. People from all over Europe were visiting and the site suits all ages and types of camping from tents to vans etc. Loved it.

Disliked: Nothing at all to dislike.

Maximum 7.5 meters powered grass campsite

Liked: Small campsite. Generous pitches. Lovely washrooms. Friendly welcome

Disliked: We would have liked to know that access road was closed in one direction, that we had to approach the site from another direction and that the usual walk to the beach was not able to be used.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your great review Sue, we're delighted that you liked the site and facilities. Unfortunately SWW have given us know warning or information about the lane closure, so it makes it very difficult to communicate with our guests. The lane could open again tomorrow but we simply don't know. Apologies if it caused you inconvenience.

Local attractions

Start your stay at Prattshayes Campsite by sticking close to site, as there’s loads nearby to keep you (and the whole fam) busy. Head into Exmouth for the Exmouth Museum, then venture a little further out for the World of Country Life park, Hawkridge Bird of Prey Centre, Bicton Park Botanical Gardens and the weird and wonderful 16-sided National Trust property A la Ronde, all less than 15 minutes’ drive from the site. A la Ronde whetting your appetite for history and stately piles? Fab Powderham Castle is just over half an hour from Prattshayes Campsite, and is open for tours and lots of special events. If that’s still not quite enough, the museums, underground passages and cathedral of Exeter (worth a visit for shopping and food too) are also a little over half an hour from the site. If you have kids in tow starting to protest about the walk down (centuries-old) memory lane, there’s oodles nearby to get them back on side… Start 20 minutes away with some go-karting to blow off steam, get their adrenaline pumping on the rides at Crealy Adventure Park (25 minutes), then pile them into the car for a jaunt to Paignton Zoo, less than an hour away.
