Powered grass campsite

Liked: Easy access and directions throughout the site, very clean throughout. Lovely little onsite pub. Dog welcome. Fantastic walks into town and along the coastal path. Nicely laid out pitches with plenty of space.

Disliked: Could do with trimming hedge around main sign before approach to site.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: A warm reception on arrival, shown to our designated pitch with ample space, the toilet/shower facilities were excellent (and free!) and the site was very clean. The new on-site pub the "Pearl and Oyster" was great value and a nice addition to the site.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Really great site, clean, well organised, excellent facilities. We had a brilliant time. Showers and toilets were clean and well equipped.

Disliked: Unfortunately our second night there was not the best, we had trouble sleeping with older kids running between our car and tent at 1am.

Liked: The warm welcome, friendly staff. Clean and tidy facilities. Large nicely mowed level pitches. Location to Brixham and surrounding attractions.

Disliked: There were signs around the site, saying no bikes or scooters to be ridden around the roads/pathways, but children were still riding them.

Liked: The humans who were running it, they were friendly and helpful, clean and tidy facilities. When we arrived the receptionist showed us our pitch, we had a bit of issues with people who were pitched next to us but was sorted by the warden straight away.. done pleasantly with no issues.. Will stay with you again.. Kids enjoyed it and made alot of friends.. bar onsite which stops at 21:30 and a food service which do breakfasts and evening meals but closed on Wednesdays.. also only 3 minutes via car to Brixham harbour or town.. overall made lovely memories and met lovely humans..

Disliked: Nothing to complain about

Local attractions

Many of the towns on the coast serve up a cracking cocktail of inland attraction and nearby beach, Dartmouth (40 minutes’ drive) being a good example. The 14th-century castle has estuary views and grisly history for those who like it; railway buffs can catch the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam line for a nostalgic tour of the surrounds and link up with a boat trip on the River Dart as well. Adjacent to the town, Blackpool Sands beach is sandy and safe for families, and adventurous sorts can go sea-kayaking. Further off, Hope Cove (an hour) has the perfect combination of sand for burying your siblings in and rock pools for exploring. If you do want a break from coastal activities, Paignton Zoo (20 minutes) has exotic residents in six different habitats; you can visit each one on the Jungle Express Train. Plymouth (an hour) is a popular port of call for its National Marine Aquarium and indoor ski slopes. For watery fun away from the beaches meanwhile, Splashdown Quay West (15 minutes) is an aqua park packed with flumes and slides and things to get wet in, and there are water rides, interactive dinosaurs and a zoo farm menagerie at Woodlands Adventure Park (45 minutes).
